NOISY BOY (J536): After the event L Ferraris stated that from a wide barrier he took up a forward position as instructed. He said the horse, under its top weight of 134 lbs, found it difficult to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276): No report. BRAVEHEARTS (H389): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. EMBRACES (J276): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. FLAMINGO TRILLION (H192): After the event K C Leung reported that his mount was pressured in the lead and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. JUMBO LEGEND (G266): Jumped awkwardly. Sent for sampling post-race. WOODFIRE BRO (G115): Sent for sampling post-race. BEAUTY ALLIANCE (J260): No report. CAMBRIDGE (K085): In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from WINNING WING. Approaching the winning post was bumped by EMBRACES when that runner was taken in slightly by JUMBO LEGEND. Z Purton pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 200 Metres (see PACKING HURRICANE). Sent for sampling post-race. WINNING WING (K129): No report. STAR MAC (J053): Jumped only fairly. PACKING HURRICANE (H137): Z Purton (CAMBRIDGE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of PACKING HURRICANE, resulting in PACKING HURRICANE having to be checked to avoid CAMBRIDGE. In accordance with previous practices, Z Purton was fined the sum of $120,000 in lieu of a two-day suspension. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. C P BRAVE (E306): Withdrawn on 8.7.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front suspensory ligament injury) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SHARPEN BRIGHT. Before being allowed to race again, C P BRAVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
