BEAUTIFUL WIN (J250): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
EN PERFECTO (J409): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271): No report.
SILVER KING (H420): Leaving the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied to avoid APOLAR FIGHTER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
SMART BEAUTY (G477): Shifted out at the start and was bumped. For a short distance after the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of BEAUTIFUL WIN.
APOLAR FIGHTER (J169): Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced.
CELTIC TIMES (G230): Sent for sampling post-race.
SMASHING EXPRESS (J252): Shortly after the start became unbalanced and lost ground when crowded between APOLAR FIGHTER and SMART BEAUTY which shifted out and away from CELTIC TIMES. Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid APOLAR FIGHTER. Sent for sampling post-race.
FAMILY FORTUNE (H447): After the event L Ferraris reported that the instructions were to hold a midfield position. He said with the pace of the event easing in the middle stages he shifted his mount out near the 1000 Metres when being steadied to avoid CELTIC TIMES. He said as a result his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
THE WAY WE WIN (J493): After the event H Bentley reported that he was given the option of taking up a forward position. He said when his mount commenced well he elected to continue forward to comply with the instructions issued. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions as he felt it was advantageous to race on-pace with the rail in the C+3 position.
PERFECT PEACH (E488): Between the 450 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind BEAUTIFUL WIN. After the 200 Metres PERFECT PEACH then endeavoured to obtain a run between BEAUTIFUL WIN and SMART BEAUTY where it was steadied when disappointed for clear running near the 150 Metres. As a result PERFECT PEACH did not obtain clear running until after being shifted to the outside of SMART BEAUTY leaving the 100 Metres.
HARRY'S HERO (H332): Jumped only fairly. Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid SMASHING EXPRESS. Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
FIRE BALL (D087): After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong expressed concern with his mount’s action over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
