A short distance later CELESTIAL HERO was unable to relieve the pressure when ALSONSO shifted out slightly. In the circumstances L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care. When questioned regarding his riding from the 700 Metres C L Chau stated that when he was of the opinion there was no position for him to improve he elected to shift in to the middle of the track to obtain clear running and ride his mount in a similar way to when it won on 13 April 2025.

Trainer C Fownes could offer no excuse for the horse’s disappointing performance. He added JUSTIFYING had pleased him leading into the race today and he had expected it to perform well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JUSTIFYING was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, JUSTIFYING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Trainer C S Shum advised that BLAZING WIND had pleased him since its last start on 18 May 2025. He added that, in his view, BLAZING WIND was not suited by racing on the stand rail as it hung in and he would in future avoid racing the horse over this course and distance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BLAZING WIND was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, BLAZING WIND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
