MONEY CATCHER (G171): Slow to begin. TURIN MASCOT (H165): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY ALLIANCE (J260): Sent for sampling post-race. FALLON (H219): Sent for sampling post-race. JUMBO LEGEND (G266): On jumping got its head up, then became unbalanced and lost ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LUCK IS BACK (J398): Shortly after the start shifted in and made contact with LEAN HERO. Approaching the 1300 Metres shifted out and away from the rail, made contact with GOOD LUCK WIN and became unbalanced. EXCELLENCE VALUE (K093): Sent for sampling post-race. CHARITY GAIN (H431): Jumped only fairly. CHAIN OF GOLD (J138): No report. LEAN HERO (G402): Bumped shortly after the start. NORTHERN BEAST (H233): When questioned K Teetan stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position from his wide barrier and he was given the option to allow NORTHERN BEAST to lead if the circumstances of the race permitted. He said after riding his mount along in the early stages to comply with his instructions he was caught racing wide to the outside of GOOD LUCK WIN. He said when he did not observe an opportunity to obtain a position with cover he continued to urge NORTHERN BEAST forward where he was able to cross to the lead near the 1200 Metres. When questioned if there was an opportunity to set a slower pace between the 1200 Metres and the 800 Metres K Teetan stated that as NORTHERN BEAST was racing a little keenly due to the manner he was obliged to ride it to cross to the lead, he was reluctant to place too much pressure on the horse to reduce the pace as it was travelling comfortably. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions issued and stated that, in his opinion, NORTHER BEAST was disadvantaged by setting too fast a pace in the early and middle stages of the event. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Teetan in going forward to lead were reasonable in the circumstances, however, he was advised that, in the opinion of the Stewards, he should have made a greater effort between the 1200 Metres and the 800 Metres to set a more sustainable tempo to give NORTHER BEAST the opportunity to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOOD LUCK WIN (J135): Approaching the 1300 Metres was bumped by LUCK IS BACK and became unbalanced. Approaching the 300 Metres was steadied to avoid NORTHERN BEAST when that runner commenced to give ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
