FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (G452): Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER and in this incident made contact with WROTE A NEW PAGE. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that from the inside barrier and with the horse racing over 1600 Metres he was asked to hold an on-pace position during the race. SETANTA (G095): Approaching the 300 Metres FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (Apprentice E C W Wong) shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with WROTE A NEW PAGE. As a result WROTE A NEW PAGE was taken out, causing FIGHT TIME to be shifted to the outside of WROTE A NEW PAGE which further resulted in THE AUSPICIOUS being taken across the running of SETANTA which was steadied. Apprentice Wong was reprimanded. BRIGHT INHERITANCE (J215): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 300 Metres was steadied to avoid SETANTA. After the event L Ferraris stated that, in his opinion, his mount was disadvantaged by settling back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. NAMJONG KINGDOM (K015): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. MISTER DAPPER (H376): Sent for sampling post-race. WROTE A NEW PAGE (K226): Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres. Near the 300 Metres made contact with FLAGSHIP WARRIOR when that runner shifted out. D STAR (G374): Jumped only fairly. THE AUSPICIOUS (K004): Near the 300 Metres was hampered and taken wider. SMART CITY (J213): The tongue tie was replaced at the Start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SPECIAL HEDGE (H354): Sent for sampling post-race. SMILING COLLECTOR (G128): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. STORM RUNNER (J452): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. FIGHT TIME (H409): Was left racing wide and without cover from the 700 Metres. FORTUNE BOY (K098): Was a late withdrawal at the barriers when it kicked out behind, got both hind legs caught between the back gates and was found to have sustained multiple abrasions. The Stewards ruled that FORTUNE BOY will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter prior to performing satisfactorily in a barrier trial and being subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
