OFFROAD MASTER (J283): When questioned, M Chadwick stated that his mount travelled fairly in the early stages. He said near the 600 Metres he placed OFFROAD MASTER under pressure but it did not respond to his riding and in the Home Straight he eased it down when he felt that there may be something amiss with his mount. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg and also to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, OFFROAD MASTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229): Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
JOLLY COMPANION (H454): On jumping made contact with the left side of its barrier, became unbalanced and lost ground. After the event, J Orman explained that when his mount jumped away awkwardly it settled further back than what had been intended.
JUDY'S GREAT (J016): Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by VULCANUS which shifted out, resulting in JUDY’S GREAT becoming unbalanced. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on JUDY’S GREAT at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, JUDY’S GREAT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
LOOKS OUTSTANDING (K022): Crowded at the start between CHILL KAKA and JOLLY COMPANION, both of which shifted ground.
