GO GO GO (H196): Had its left front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. SMASHING EXPRESS (J252): No report. GLUCK RACER (E157): Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by TURTLE AGAIN which was taken in by GOLDEN FAIRY. Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres was badly held up for clear running. MARIO (J100): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. The performance of MARIO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MARIO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ON THE LASH (J182): Sent for sampling post-race. SUPER HONG KONG (D241): Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by CHATEAU LE PECHE which shifted out. Near the 50 Metres was taken in slightly. CHILLI BABA (G339): Proved difficult to load into the starting gates. Before being allowed to race again, CHILLI BABA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. Jumped only fairly. Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider L Ferraris changing his whip to his right hand near the 50 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. NICE BIRDIE (G470): No report. CHATEAU LE PECHE (H471): Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. GOLDEN FAIRY (E448): After the event, A Badel could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TURTLE AGAIN (H083): Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of GOLDEN FAIRY. After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount travelled well in the event but after obtaining clear running near the 300 Metres responded only fairly to his riding and gave ground over the concluding stages. Trainer T P Yung advised that TURTLE AGAIN had pleased him leading into today’s race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of TURTLE AGAIN was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, TURTLE AGAIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. RED MAVERICK (J067): From the 450 Metres to the 250 Metres was held up for clear running. JOYFUL CHAMPION (G072): No report. FAMILY FORTUNE (H447): Withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, FAMILY FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
