ROMANTIC FANTASY (H168): Jumped only fairly. Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. After the race, Y L Chung could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FLYING MOJITO (G412): No report. JOY OF SPRING (H383): JOY OF SPRING, which was in the adjacent barrier to YOUNG BRILLIANT, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Sent for sampling post-race. WINNING STEPS (G420): Jumped awkwardly. CALL ME SUPREME (J202): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. PING HAI COMET (H344): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SATIRICAL GLORY (H073): Sent for sampling post-race. CHATEAU LE PECHE (H471): No report. ME TIME (J074): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running between CALL ME SUPREME and PING HAI COMET which was giving ground. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out to the finish when positioned tight between KINGLY DEMEANOR and LITTLE FAIRY which shifted out slightly. SPECIAL HEDGE (H354): No report. PAKISTAN FRIEND (B370): PAKISTAN FRIEND, which was in the adjacent barrier to YOUNG BRILLIANT, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. LITTLE FAIRY (H206): No report. KINGLY DEMEANOR (H486): After the race, M L Yeung reported that he was instructed to hold a more forward position with his mount being stepped up in distance today. YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135): After being placed in the starting stalls reared and became cast underneath the stalls for some time. Acting on veterinary advice that YOUNG BRILLIANT was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Was subsequently found to be lame in its left hind leg with multiple lacerations to its legs. Before being allowed to race again, YOUNG BRILLIANT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Subsequently Apprentice E C W Wong was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.
