NORDIC DRAGON (G467): Leaving the 50 Metres was held up behind LUCKY ARCHANGEL and then was not able to be fully ridden out to the finish of the event when it remained positioned behind that runner. CELESTIAL COLOURS (H362): Shifted out on jumping and was bumped. Over-raced throughout the early and middle stages. RISING FROM ASHES (G209): Jumped awkwardly . MANRAY HONOUR (J172): No report. ASTROLOGER (G102): Jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Held up making the Home Turn and leaving the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of YOUNG ARROW to obtain clear running. GOLDEN EMPIRE (E490): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. AMAZING VICTORY (G123): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ACE VICTORY (H076): Bumped shortly after the start. SUPER JOY N FUN (J164): No report. YOUNG ARROW (J401): Jumped only fairly. Over-raced in the middle stages and near the 550 Metres when racing keenly was steadied to avoid CALIFORNIA DEEPLY. CALIFORNIA DEEPLY (G451): Sent for sampling post-race. LUCKY ARCHANGEL (E385): When questioned, M F Poon stated that consistent with previous instructions he was asked to take up a forward position tonight. He said LUCKY ARCHANGEL jumped well and showed good speed in the early stages where it was able to cross and lead the event in a race run close to standard time. He added after enjoying a comfortable run in the lead, under its light weight, LUCKY ARCHANGEL responded to his riding in the Home Straight and as a result was able to finish the race off strongly to win the race. Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions issued and explained such instructions had been consistent with previous race starts. He added that LUCKY ARCHANGEL was advantaged by carrying the minimum weight of 115 lbs due to its rating being lowered in recent starts and also by being able to obtain the lead at a comfortable pace from a favourable barrier. Sent for sampling post-race. WINNING ICEY (G246): Withdrawn on 11.6.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MANRAY HONOUR. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING ICEY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
