STORMTROUPER (E100): Jumped only fairly. From the 200 Metres until the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running between VIVA A LA and YOUNG HORIZON.
NICE BIRDIE (G470): In the early stages was caught wide and without cover when DASHING GLORY improved to its inside and as a result was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover near the 1400 Metres. Near the 100 Metres was held up for clear running between YOUNG HORIZON and SUPER HORNET and made contact with SUPER HORNET approaching the finish. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
YOUNG HORIZON (G272): Jumped awkwardly and then raced keenly in the early stages.
BIG TWO (E310): Jumped only fairly and then was checked when crowded between SUPER HORNET and DASHING GLORY which was taken out by BRILLIANT PIONEER which shifted out before being corrected by its rider K Teetan. Bumped near the 550 Metres.
CIRCUIT ELITE (E487): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REGENCY HAPPY STAR (H248): Blundered shortly after the start. Near the 450 Metres was shifted to the inside of the weakening DASHING GLORY to continue into clear running. After the race, Z Purton could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
UNITED ENDEAVORS (G030): Sent for sampling post-race.
CHARMING STEED (E494): No report.
BRILLIANT PIONEER (G255): Near the 550 Metres shifted out and made contact with BIG TWO. Sent for sampling post-race.
DASHING GLORY (G397): Crowded at the start. Near the 1500 Metres improved to the inside of NICE BIRDIE and then raced tight to the inside of that runner for a short distance thereafter and as a result made contact with NICE BIRDIE. When questioned, K De Melo stated that with the horse stepping up to 1650 Metres tonight, he was asked to take up a forward position on his mount. He said although DASHING GLORY jumped only fairly, he rode his mount along in the early stages to comply with his instructions which resulted in DASHING GLORY being able to obtain a position outside the lead near the 1000 Metres. He added approaching the Home Turn he felt something may be amiss with DASHING GLORY as it hung in and as a result he eased it down from the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DASHING GLORY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DASHING GLORY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
VIVA A LA (G282): No report.
SUPER HORNET (G043): Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. Bumped approaching the finish.
