ENCOUNTERED (G236): Passing the 1500 Metres was steadied away from SWORD POINT when that runner was steadied to obtain cover behind MONEY CATCHER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MONEY CATCHER (G171): Bumped at the start. When questioned regarding his riding and the reason he made a forward move from the 750 Metres when positioned behind NIMBLE NIMBUS, M Chadwick stated that after following NIMBLE NIMBUS in the early and middle stages, he felt NIMBLE NIMBUS gave ground slightly on the leader TELECOM FIGHTERS and as MONEY CATCHER is one-paced, he elected to shift out and commenced to improve into the event. He added from that point MONEY CATCHER was obliged to race wide and without cover and finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SWORD POINT (G448): When questioned, H Bowman stated that after following MONEY CATCHER, when that runner improved from the 750 Metres, SWORD POINT then was positioned to the inside of MONEY CATCHER which was racing three wide. He stated that his intention was to endeavour to follow MONEY CATCHER from the 500 Metres, however, SWORD POINT lay in and when positioned to the inside of MONEY CATCHER was unable to shift out. He added as a result he then continued to follow NIMBLE NIMBUS and from the 350 Metres endeavoured to shift to the outside of NIMBLE NIMBUS to secure clear running, however, SWORD POINT hung in and he was unable to shift to the outside of that runner. He further stated that near the 200 Metres he was held up for clear running behind TELECOM FIGHTERS whereby SWORD POINT lost momentum and did not finish the race off from that point. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TELECOM FIGHTERS (D482): No report. TOURBILLON DIAMOND (E054): Jumped only fairly. CHAMPION DRAGON (G070): Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. After the 1500 Metres raced tight to the inside of ENCOUNTERED. Approaching the 1200 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied away from the heels of ENCOUNTERED which shifted in. HELENE FEELING (H215): Crowded shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race. NIMBLE NIMBUS (E249): Jumped awkwardly and was bumped. HAPPY TOGETHER (G446): Sent for sampling post-race. RISING FROM ASHES (G209): After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount made an abnormal breathing noise during the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. LA CITY BLANCHE (G371): Making the turn near the 350 Metres hung out and was steadied away from SWORD POINT. Sent for sampling post-race. BERLIN TANGO (E120): Crowded shortly after the start.
