BEAUTY GLORY and WINNING ICEY bumped at the start. Shortly after the start, IVY LEAGUE was crowded between HOSS and SUPER VINCE which shifted in and away from VALIANT ELEGANCE which was bumped by HARMONY N BLESSED when racing tight to the inside of that runner. From wide barriers, JUMBO FORTUNE and WINGS OF WAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages, VALIANT ELEGANCE got it head up when being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover behind SUPER VINCE. When unable to obtain cover, VALIANT ELEGANCE raced wide for the majority of the event. Near the 900 Metres, BEAUTY TYCOON, which was racing keenly, was steadied away from IVY LEAGUE. Near the 250 Metres, ELON improved into a narrow run to the inside of VALIANT ELEGANCE which was giving ground and as a result ELON made contact with VALIANT ELEGANCE when that runner shifted in slightly. For a short distance near the 150 Metres, WINGS OF WAR had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned close to ELON. After the race, A Badel (BEAUTY GLORY) and K Teetan (SUPER VINCE) advised that their respective mounts failed to handle tonight’s rain-affected track condition. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of SUPER VINCE immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Also after the race, A Hamelin (IVY LEAGUE) stated that his intention was to hold a handy position, however, IVY LEAGUE raced keenly in the early stages and as a result settled in a more forward position than he had intended. He added that IVY LEAGUE continued to race keenly in the middle stages and hung in, particularly when placed under pressure in the Straight and proved difficult to ride to the finish. A veterinary inspection of IVY LEAGUE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING ICEY and HOSS were sent for sampling.
