SUPER HIGHWAY (G050): Jumped only fairly. Near the 1000 Metres was bumped by SIGHT HERO which shifted out and away from GANGNAM STAR. Near the 250 Metres was checked when crowded by GANGNAM STAR (M Chadwick) which shifted out and away from RUBY SAILING when that runner shifted out. M Chadwick was reprimanded and advised he should have reacted sooner and with a greater effort to straighten his mount when it commenced to shift ground. After the race, J McDonald stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and after being checked at the 250 Metres did not finish the race off strongly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SIGHT HERO (D487): Bumped at the start. Shifted out and was bumped near the 1000 Metres. Approaching the 800 Metres was momentarily crowded between SUPER HIGHWAY and SECOND TO NONE which shifted out. Near the 600 Metres was again crowded between SUPER HIGHWAY and SECOND TO NONE which was taken out by V LOVE YOU which shifted out when being steadied away from TOP PEAK. DIVINE SHINING (G373): After the race, L Ferraris reported that from the outside barrier and with the expected lack of early speed, he was asked to go forward and lead on DIVING SHINING. Trainer K H Ting confirmed the instructions issued. GANGNAM STAR (H326): Jumped only fairly and was bumped at the start. Making the first turn leaving the 900 Metres lay out. When questioned regarding the performance of GANGNAM STAR, M Chadwick stated that he had to make some use of his mount in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail. He added making the Home Turn and in the Home Straight his mount raced greenly and proved difficult to ride out to the finish. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. RUBY SAILING (H347): Crowded shortly after the start. From the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and approaching the 250 Metres was shifted to the outside of VANTASTIC CHOICE to secure a clear run. Sent for sampling post-race. SECOND TO NONE (H319): Jumped awkwardly. Crowded near the 600 Metres. Checked near the 250 Metres. TOP PEAK (H441): M L Yeung (RUBY SAILING) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 250 Metres he directed his mount out when insufficiently clear of TOP PEAK, resulting in TOP PEAK being taken from its rightful running and being taken out, causing SECOND TO NONE, which was positioned to the outside of TOP PEAK, to be checked. M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Thursday, 4 January 2024 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. V LOVE YOU (J048): Steadied away from heels near the 600 Metres. SUNLIGHT POWER (H244): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MY INTELLIGENT (G031): No report. MULAN (H145): Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and was bumped. VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401): Sent for sampling post-race.
