AMAZING GOLD, which became fractious and reared on a number of occasions after being loaded into the barriers, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. WINASWEWISH was slow to begin and then got its head up and was reluctant to stride out in the early stages. Before being allowed to race again, WINASWEWISH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. MY GIFT lost its left front plate on jumping. SO GENEROUS was crowded for room on jumping between MY GIFT and CITY WINNER which shifted out. Shortly after the start, WEALTHY FORTUNE was crowded for room inside HAPPY FRIENDSHIP which shifted in. From wide barriers, LE PANACHE and ROCK THE TREE were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Despite being ridden along after the 1200 Metres, FORTUNE GIGGLES was unable to maintain its position which resulted in WEALTHY FORTUNE (C Y Ho) being able to shift in in front of FORTUNE GIGGLES. Whilst the Stewards accepted that FORTUNE GIGGLES was reluctant to maintain its position at this stage, nonetheless C Y Ho was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when not quite clear which resulted in FORTUNE GIGGLES having to be steadied. When FORTUNE GIGGLES was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WEALTHY FORTUNE, SAVANNAH WIND, which was following, shifted out away from the heels of FORTUNE GIGGLES in consequence which resulted in SAVANNAH WIND being obliged to race three wide and without cover. SAVANNAH WIND was then allowed to improve its position near the 1000 Metres to race towards the lead. Passing the 600 Metres, HAPPY FRIENDSHIP raced tight inside SAVANNAH WIND (Z Purton) which shifted in gradually when not properly clear of HAPPY FRIENDSHIP. Z Purton was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he provides sufficient clearance when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Near the 450 Metres, WONDERFUL CHASER was bumped by HAPPY FRIENDSHIP which attempted to shift to the outside of SAVANNAH WIND. For some distance after this, WONDERFUL CHASER and HAPPY FRIENDSHIP raced tight, resulting in HAPPY FRIENDSHIP being awkwardly placed close to the heels of SAVANNAH WIND near the 400 Metres when unable to improve to the outside of that horse. Passing the 400 Metres, AMAZING GOLD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MY GIFT when unable to improve between that horse and SAVANNAH WIND. In this incident, AMAZING GOLD and SAVANNAH WIND bumped. Passing the 100 Metres, HAPPY FRIENDSHIP raced tight inside SAVANNAH WIND. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HAPPY FRIENDSHIP had sustained a small wound to the left front cannon. A veterinary inspection of AMAZING GOLD and CITY WINNER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MY GIFT, WONDERFUL CHASER and WINASWEWISH were sent for sampling. <1/2/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that WINASWEWISH was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, WINASWEWISH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination and, as previously advised, the horse will also be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
