OPTIMIZATION STAR was slow to begin. JOYFUL WINNER II shifted out at the start and bumped MULTIEXPRESS. FORTUNE TERRITORY was crowded for room at the start by SILVER DRAGON which shifted in. Shortly after the start, SPICY SHRIMP and GLORY WIN bumped. SPICY SHRIMP then shifted in and made contact with BESPOKE MASTER which became unbalanced. Near the 800 Metres, BESPOKE MASTER was crowded for room inside GLORY WIN which itself was racing tight inside ALWAYS WELL (N Callan) which shifted in. N Callan was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances. Near the 700 Metres, ALWAYS WELL got its head up. Passing the 700 Metres, OPTIMIZATION STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BESPOKE MASTER and then making the turn after the 600 Metres got its head on the side and hung out across the heels of PRONOUNCED HONOUR, resulting in JOYFUL WINNER II being crowded for room inside SILVER DRAGON. After this, OPTIMIZATION STAR continued to get its head on the side and hang out and after the 500 Metres made heavy contact with JOYFUL WINNER II on a number of occasions, causing both horses to become badly unbalanced. OPTIMIZATION STAR then continued to hang out making the Home Turn. Approaching the 600 Metres, PRONOUNCED HONOUR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GLORY WIN. At the entrance to the Straight, GLORY WIN shifted out and bumped MULTIEXPRESS. Near the 250 Metres, SPICY SHRIMP was shifted to the inside of OCEAN WIDE when disappointed for running between that horse and ALWAYS WELL which shifted in. Near the 200 Metres, OCEAN WIDE and ALWAYS WELL bumped. Near the 150 Metres, PRONOUNCED HONOUR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of MULTIEXPRESS. After the 100 Metres, ALWAYS WELL was awkwardly placed outside the heels of OCEAN WIDE which shifted out slightly. For the majority of the race, MULTIEXPRESS travelled wide and without cover. SILVER DRAGON, GLORY WIN and OCEAN WIDE were sent for sampling.
