SUNNY FAY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. SUNRISE shifted out at the start, resulting in ZEZAO being crowded for room inside DOUBLE DRAGON. Near the 1000 Metres, ZEZAO got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SUNNY FAY. H W Lai (TIPPERARY DAVOR) was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in near the 900 Metres when not clear of SUNRISE, resulting in that horse being taken in and causing CHAMPION MOUNT to be crowded for room. Near the 500 Metres, SUNNY FAY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAGNUMOUS. SUNNY FAY was not able to obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres. Near the 150 Metres, K C Leung (SUNNY FAY) momentarily dropped his left rein. For the major part of the race, SLICK BULLET travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of CHAMPION MOUNT after the race did not show any significant findings. STRATHTAY, GREEN EAGLE and PLENTIFUL were sent for sampling.
