WATCH WHAT HAPPENS and PRIME TARGET were slow to begin. Making the first turn near the 650 Metres, PRIME TARGET shifted in of its own accord and made heavy contact with the running rail. As a result, PRIME TARGET became badly unbalanced and lost ground. Also making the first turn near the 650 Metres, SHINING VICTORY hung out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CAT STORM. Approaching the 200 Metres, ABLE SPEED and WINE WIN bumped as ABLE SPEED improved into running between that horse and WATCH WHAT HAPPENS. When questioned, M Chadwick stated that CAT STORM, which was having its first start on the All Weather surface tonight, travelled satisfactorily until rounding the turn near the 600 Metres at which time the horse commenced to lay out. He said after this CAT STORM did not respond to his riding and was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to close off the race. A veterinary inspection of CAT STORM after the race did not show any significant findings. TRUE INTELLIGENCE, CHEQUE BOOK and ABLE SPEED were sent for sampling.
