01/10/2024 Shatin Turf C+3 1400m Going: GOOD TO FIRM (2.71) Rating: 040-027
LINK (J177): Jumped awkwardly. Crowded near the 1100 Metres. After the event, A Badel reported that after being crowded near the 1100 Metres his mount did not travel well afterwards. He said in the Home Straight LINK hung out, proved difficult to ride and he felt there may be something amiss with it. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JOYFUL LIFE (H426): Sent for sampling post-race.
NOBLE WIN (H195): Bumped at the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
AROMATICA (H437): For some distance near the 1100 Metres was crowded by TSUEN WAN GLORY (M Chadwick) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. M Chadwick was reprimanded. After the event, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, AROMATICA may derive benefit from today’s first up performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
THE KHAN (H489): Sent for sampling post-race.
ALWAYS AWESOME (H245): Shifted in at the start and was bumped. When questioned regarding her riding, Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions from a wide barrier were to ride ALWAYS AWESOME in a conservative manner in the early stages, but was given no specific instructions thereafter. She said after commencing well she elected to restrain her mount in the early stages to comply with her instructions, however, ALWAYS AWESOME relaxed underneath her and as a consequence lost ground on the main body of the field. She added throughout the middle stages she encouraged ALWAYS AWESOME to improve into the event and entering the Home Straight she shifted out to secure clear running. She said, under pressure, ALWAYS AWESOME lay in and as a result she then changed her whip through to her right hand, however, as she did so, ALWAYS AWESOME lay out and shifted towards the grandstand rail. She further stated that near the 250 Metres she was able to correct her mount and ride it out to the finish of the event thereafter. Apprentice Wong agreed with the Stewards that in the early stages of the event she had misjudged her riding by restraining ALWAYS AWESOME which resulted in it losing contact with the field in the early stages. Apprentice Wong was advised that in similar circumstances she would be expected to show better judgement than what she did on this occasion. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
YOUTH POWER (H358): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running. Again approaching the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance.
FIRE BALL (D087): Passing the 50 Metres shifted out, resulting in its rider Y L Chung having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
MEDIC ELITE (G129): Jumped only fairly.
TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403): When questioned regarding the performance, M Chadwick stated that whilst his mount travelled satisfactorily in the early stages, it failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and lay in when giving ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

01/10/2024 Shatin Turf C+3 1200m Going: GOOD TO FIRM (2.71) Rating: 039-027
SUPER ELITE (H247): Near the 170 Metres bounded over a mark on the track. After the event, H Bowman reported that his mount travelled well during the race, however, when placed under pressure in the Home Straight failed to respond to his riding and recommended it may be better suited being ridden more patiently at its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CHILLI BABA (G339): Jumped only fairly. Near the 400 Metres was shifted to the inside of E GLORY to continue into clear running.
SAME TO YOU (H057): Bumped on jumping and then shifted in. After the event, B Avdulla stated that after his mount had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 300 Metres between BEAT HOLLOW and SUPER ELITE it then did not finish the race off thereafter and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
COMMANDING MISSILE (G210): Sent for sampling post-race.
MANYTHANKS FOREVER (J065): No report.
E GLORY (H304): From the 400 Metres until the 350 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted out.
RATTAN WORLD (G384): Shortly after the start was taken out slightly by E GLORY and a short distance later then had to be steadied when crowded by SAME TO YOU which shifted in after making contact with BEAT HOLLOW.
HO HO STAR (H291): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance, Z Purton stated that with the pace of the event being run outside of standard time in the early stages, HO HO STAR raced keenly and got its head up. He said as a consequence when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount responded only fairly to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
BEAT HOLLOW (G414): Sent for sampling post-race.
THE GOOD DEAL (G025): After the event, K Teetan reported that his mount anticipated the start just prior to it being effected and as a result jumped awkwardly and lost ground. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of THE GOOD DEAL and it will be required to undertake a stalls test prior to being allowed to race again. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
MORE RICE (H271): Was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the barriers and found to be lame in its right front leg. Was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Before being allowed to race again, MORE RICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

01/10/2024 ST Shatin Turf C+3 1200m Going: GOOD TO FIRM (2.71) Rating: 057-042
ERNEST FEELING (E209): Jumped only fairly.
NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418): B Thompson was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 900 Metres (see BIENVENUE). Lay in in the Home Straight and over the concluding stages B Thompson dropped his right rein. Sent for sampling post-race.
BIENVENUE (J490): Jumped only fairly. B Thompson (NEW FUTURE FOLKS) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in, resulting in GREAT SPIRIT and NEW FUTURE FOLKS making contact and resulting in insufficient room being left for BIENVENUE, causing L Hewitson to check BIENVENUE when it lost its running at that point. After assessing the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and having regard to Jockey Thompson’s very good record, the Stewards determined the appropriate penalty to be a reprimand. Passing the 400 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR to continue into clear running. Approaching the 100 Metres, when racing greenly, shifted in slightly and then was steadied to avoid TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR (K C Leung) which shifted out. K C Leung was reprimanded.

ENSHINE (J196): Brushed a partition with its right hind leg in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LESS IS MORE (H406): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LESS IS MORE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GREAT SPIRIT (J155): For a short distance near the 400 Metres was held up behind NEW FUTURE FOLKS. Sent for sampling post-race.
TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR (H430): Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running between ENSHINE which shifted out slightly and CIRCUS REEL. TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR was then shifted to the outside of CIRCUS REEL after the 300 Metres to secure clear running.
GLUCK RACER (E157): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 100 Metres was momentarily crowded between ERNEST FEELING and BIENVENUE which shifted out when racing greenly.

JUDY'S GREAT (J016): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on JUDY’S GREAT at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, JUDY’S GREAT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
CHEERFUL WORLD (H352): After the 400 Metres became held up for clear running between HAPPY PARK and TOP SCORER and did not obtain clear running until near the 200 Metres.
NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510): Jumped only fairly and was crowded shortly after. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages raced keenly. Throughout the middle stages lay in and after the 500 Metres shifted in and made contact with the running rail.
THE PRIME (J352): Shortly after the start was taken out.
HAPPY PARK (J311): Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
GOOD PROSPECT (J406): Made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping.
CIRCUIT VICTORY (H487): On jumping was bumped by HAPPY PARK which shifted out slightly, resulting in CIRCUIT VICTORY becoming unbalanced.
SILVER DESTINY (J096): After the event, Y L Chung reported that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

01/10/2024 ST Shatin Turf C+3 1400m Going: GOOD TO FIRM (2.71) Rating: 060-049
ENJOY GOLF (J222): After the event, H Bowman reported that after being held up for clear running in the early stages of the Home Straight ENJOY GOLF responded only fairly to his riding and raced "flat”. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOR MO TUEN (J434): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. At the 400 Metres was directed to the inside of YUEN LONG ELITE to continue into clear running. Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres GOR MO TUEN was then held up behind AMAZING DUCK when that runner was giving ground.
I AM THE BOSS (H446): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. After the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when racing tight to the inside of JUMBO FORTUNE.
ALL RICHES (G060): Sent for sampling post-race.
YUEN LONG ELITE (J272): Passing the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind RED ACLAIM and when being shifted out to obtain clear running made contact with MAJESTIC SPEED. When questioned, M L Yeung stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position, but his mount failed to show sufficient pace to do so. He added near the 1200 Metres he was steadied away from CHARITY FOR ALL which resulted in YUEN LONG ELITE settling further back in the field than what had been intended.
AMAZING DUCK (H392): After the event, M F Poon reported that his mount coughed after passing the winning post. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING DUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
RED ACLAIM (J017): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
SIXTH GENERATION (G120): Jumped only fairly. Near the 1200 Metres was steadied when crowded between RED ACLAIM (A Atzeni) which shifted in slightly before being corrected and MAJESTIC SPEED which was taken out slightly by YUEN LONG ELITE which shifted out when being steadied to avoid CHARITY FOR ALL (B Avdulla) when that runner shifted in when not quite clear. Both A Atzeni and B Avdulla were advised to exercise more care.
MAJESTIC SPEED (J018): Jumped only fairly. Crowded near the 1200 Metres. After the 400 Metres and again after the 300 Metres was bumped and taken wider.
CHARITY FOR ALL (H417): After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on CHARITY FOR ALL at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed the horse to have an epiglottic entrapment and a dorsal displacement of the soft palate.
JUMBO FORTUNE (G195): Near the 350 Metres raced tight between ENJOY GOLF and CHARITY FOR ALL which shifted in slightly when giving ground. After the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of VIEW OF THE WORLD to continue into clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.

STOLTZ (G147): When questioned, Z Purton stated that after mounting STOLTZ in the enclosure he had some concern with its action. He said upon entering the track and travelling a short distance he was concerned that STOLTZ was showing lameness in its left front leg and as a result STOLTZ was returned to the enclosure. STOLTZ was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. A veterinary inspection immediately following unsaddling did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, STOLTZ will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

COPARTNER PRANCE (H408): After the event, Z Purton reported that his mount raced too keenly in the early and middle stages when positioned outside the leader DROMBEG BANNER and as a result COPARTNER PRANCE did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight. He said as he attempted to obtain this run, PATCH OF THETA shifted in slightly and DROMBEG BANNER (A Atzeni) shifted out which resulted in SUNLIGHT POWER being disappointed for clear running and not being able to be ridden out over the final 50 Metres. A Atzeni was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear. Sent for sampling post-race.

01/10/2024 LT Shatin Turf C+3 1200m Going: GOOD TO FIRM (2.71) Rating: 078-061
HASTEN DELIGHT (J229): Noted to have blood at its mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Crowded shortly after the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS (H170): Crowded shortly after the start. Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
KAHOLO ANGEL (H216): No report.
GRACIOUS EXPRESS (J188): Approaching the 1100 Metres was momentarily crowded. When questioned, B Avdulla stated that after following MOTOMAN into the Home Straight he was positioned to the inside of HARMONY FIRE and as a result his mount was held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and passing the 300 Metres where he was able to shift to the outside of HARMONY FIRE to secure clear running.
STELLAR EXPRESS (J186): After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GLORY ELITE (H311): Bumped shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race.

MY WISH (J256): Jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 1100 Metres was ridden forward in an attempt to cross GRACIOUS EXPRESS, but when unable do so, MY WISH, which was racing ungenerously, then became awkwardly placed on the heels of STELLAR EXPRESS (H Bowman) which shifted in, resulting in MY WISH being steadied to avoid that runner’s heels. H Bowman was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. Then over-raced throughout the early and middle stages of the event.
MOTOMAN (J436): In the early stages was ridden along to hold its position to the inside of HARMONY FIRE and as a result MOTOMAN raced tight to the inside of that runner for some distance approaching the 1000 Metres. After establishing its position to the inside of HARMONY FIRE, MOTOMAN then raced keenly throughout the middle stages of the event, got its head up and refused to settle. Apprentice Wong’s riding in the early stages was referred to the Chief Riding Instructor for remedial training.

01/10/2024 LT Shatin Turf C+3 1400m Going: GOOD TO FIRM (2.71) Rating: 079-061
TOP GUN (J249): Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied when positioned close to the heels of BEAUTY GLORY and tight to the inside of JOLLY RULER (A Atzeni) which was placed close to the heels of UNPRESUMING. Notwithstanding the fact that BEAUTY GLORY was unable to shift to the rail which had contributed to this incident, A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race.
FIND MY LOVE (H110): M L Yeung was fined $2,000 for initially presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number. After the event, M L Yeung stated that his mount, which was racing first up today, would derive benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEAUTY GLORY (E459): No report.
NEVER TOO SOON (E434): Crowded on jumping and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From the 400 Metres until the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

THE WAY WE WIN (J493): After the event, K C Leung reported that his mount made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping which resulted in his saddle shifting. He said as a consequence THE WAY WE WIN jumped awkwardly and settled back in the field as he took some time to rebalance his saddle.
MIGHTY STEED (J384): Crowded near the 900 Metres.
ARIEL (G223): After the event, L Hewitson stated that the intention was to hold a forward position. He said from his wide barrier and when his mount did not show sufficient pace, ARIEL settled further back in the field than anticipated.
ROMAN CROWN (J456): Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was crowded. Steadied near the 900 Metres. Near the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded by MIGHTY STEED which raced tight to the inside of ARIEL when that runner lay in and BEAUTY GLORY (B Avdulla) which shifted out and away from FUN TOGETHER as that runner commenced to shift out. B Avdulla was advised, where possible, to make a greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. Over the concluding stages could not be fully tested when positioned close to MIGHTY STEED.
UNPRESUMING (H143): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from the right nostril. An endoscopic examination conducted on UNPRESUMING confirmed the horse to be a bleeder. As this was the second occasion that UNPRESUMING had bled, the horse is permanently barred from any further racing.
