NOBLE WIN (H195): Jumped only fairly. After the race, Z Purton reported that his mount made a loud respiratory noise during the event and gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. ROBOT FIGHTER (H309): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. The performance of ROBOT FIGHTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ROBOT FIGHTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. V LOVE YOU (J048): After the race, B Thompson reported that from a wide barrier he was requested to take up a forward position. He said racing in blinkers for the first time V LOVE YOU showed more pace than expected and when caught wide he elected to allow his mount to stride forward to lead the event. COOL BLUE (H011): Near the 350 Metres was bumped by GREEN LASER which shifted out to improve. After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount failed to run out today’s race distance of 1650 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FORTUNE PRESIDENT (G054): Slow to begin. M M NEBULA (G279): Near the 1500 Metres, when being shifted in to obtain cover, was awkwardly placed close to COOL BLUE and got its head up when being steadied. Briefly held up making the Home Turn. After the race, M Chadwick advised that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions to ensure that M M NEBULA was able to obtain cover. ASIAN ONE (E400): No report. SUPERB MOVE (G304): No report. CASA LEGEND (G126): No report. CHARMING STEED (E494): Sent for sampling post-race. CHIRON (E151): Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, K C Leung reported that his mount did not travel well at any stage of the event and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ALL IS READY (G042): No report. EAGLE RUN (G415): Sent for sampling post-race. GREEN LASER (E409): Shifted out near the 350 Metres and bumped with COOL BLUE.

ROBOT MASTER (J107): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 400 Metres was briefly held up and when being shifted to the outside to obtain clear running made contact with SEIZING THE MOMENT. SIXTH GENERATION (G120): Jumped awkwardly. When questioned regarding his riding in the early part of the Home Straight and as to whether there was an opportunity to improve between HAPPY DAILY and WAR OF COURAGE sooner than he did, C Y Ho stated that after following HAPPY DAILY and having WINNING TURN positioned to his outside, he commenced to shift out with a view to obtaining clear running to the outside of HAPPY DAILY. He said when WINNING TURN did not continue to give ground as he had expected, he was then held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres before shifting to the inside of HAPPY DAILY to secure clear running. He added that when both HAPPY DAILY and WAR OF COURAGE shifted ground slightly, SIXTH GENERATION raced tight between those two runners between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres. C Y Ho further stated that his decision to shift out initially was influenced by the fact that he felt WAR OF COURAGE would shift out, resulting in the run which was already tight closing and he was of the opinion his best option at that stage was to endeavour to improve to the outside. Sent for sampling post-race. SEIZING THE MOMENT (E444): Raced wide and without cover from the 900 Metres. Approaching the 400 Metres was bumped by ROBOT MASTER which shifted out to obtain clear running, resulting in SEIZING THE MOMENT becoming unbalanced. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUGAR BALL (H394): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Over the final 100 Metres lay in and proved difficult to ride out to the finish. WAR OF COURAGE (C483): Over the final 100 Metres lay in and proved difficult to ride out to the finish. HAPPY DAILY (E294): Lay out on the Home Turn and as a result WAR OF COURAGE was able to improve to that runner’s inside. After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to take up a forward position. Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions on the basis that HAPPY DAILY had barrier trialed well on 9 April 2024 when it led and also he expected the pace of the event not to be quick in the early stages. MATSU VICTOR (H472): No report. SUPER UNICORN (H481): Shortly after the start was bumped by SUNNY DA BEST which shifted in, resulting in SUPER UNICORN becoming unbalanced. In the middle stages raced keenly and after the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from SIXTH GENERATION. Approaching the 300 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of SIXTH GENERATION to obtain clear running. WINNING TURN (J163): Lay out on the Home Turn and made contact with INVINCIBLE LUCKY. INVINCIBLE LUCKY (J119): Jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 400 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by WINNING TURN which was having its first race start and lay out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. Sent for sampling post-race. LINK (J177): No report. SUNNY DA BEST (J118): Shifted in at the start and was bumped. After the race, K De Melo reported that his intention was to hold a forward position but not necessarily lead. He said after his mount commenced well, it was able to assume the lead without being pressured to do so. Sent for sampling post-race. VULCANUS (J150): Jumped only fairly. STRATHBARRY (H413): After being placed in the barriers got its right hind leg momentarily on the starting gate partition. Removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to start. In the Home Straight lay in and near the 200 Metres was steadied when SUGAR BALL shifted out.

APACHE PASS (D433): Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier. REWARD SMILE (H256): From an outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. MAGNIAC (H141): No report. SING DRAGON (J141): Sent for sampling post-race. VICTORY MOMENTS (H142): Near the 400 Metres was shifted to the inside of MAGNIAC to continue into clear running. CAMPIONE (G235): After the race, M Chadwick stated that his mount was able to hold a forward position, lay out on the Home Turn and gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LIGHTNING BOLT (G130): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. THE GREAT MASTER (H457): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race. RED ELEGANCE (H241): Sent for sampling post-race. MULTISUPER (G416): Crowded near the 800 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. CURRAHEE (J204): Bumped at the start. Approaching the 400 Metres was shifted to the outside of THE GREAT MASTER to obtain clear running. DRACO (J115): Slow to begin and then bumped with CURRAHEE shortly after. FLYING PHANTOM (J086): Leaving the 400 Metres blundered. After the race, B Avdulla stated that with the race being run inside of standard time, FLYING PHANTOM did not travel well, however, finished the race off fairly over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. JOLLY COMPANION (H454): No report. SUPER TEN (D362): No report. GIMME FIVE (J099): After travelling a short distance made contact with FANCY STAR. Near the 800 Metres became unbalanced when crowded between MULTISUPER which was taken out slightly by THE GREAT MASTER and FANCY STAR which shifted in. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. PROSECCO (E457): No report. FANCY STAR (H428): Bumped after travelling a short distance. Near the 800 Metres shifted in, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

GALVANIC (H147): Near the 300 Metres was directed to the inside of FOREVER CHARM to secure clear running. Over the final 200 Metres lay out and proved difficult to ride. Sent for sampling post-race. BEAR SLAM (C143): After the race, H Bowman reported that his mount was fractious in the gates prior to the start being effected. He said as a result BEAR SLAM jumped awkwardly, but travelled satisfactorily throughout the early and middle stages before failing to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BEAR SLAM was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, BEAR SLAM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HAKKA RADIANCE (J105): No report. FOREVER CHARM (J081): No report. CORDYCEPS ONE (E107): Jumped awkwardly. C L Chau (FAST VICTORY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he directed his mount out when insufficiently clear of CORDYCEPS ONE, resulting in CORDYCEPS ONE losing its rightful running and having to be checked. C L Chau was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 5 May 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 12 May 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Jockey Chau was fined $90,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 3 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his neutral race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. G LINER (H072): Near the 200 Metres K Teetan dropped his right rein for a number of strides. Near the 150 Metres was bumped by FOREVER CHARM which shifted out. ALL RICHES (G060): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FAST VICTORY (H393): Held up for clear running from the 300 Metres until approaching the 200 Metres. C L Chau pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 200 Metres (see CORDYCEPS ONE). MAYHEM (H226): Approaching the 200 Metres was bumped by CORDYCEPS ONE and became unbalanced, resulting in its rider Z Purton having to stop riding and straighten his mount. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. STARSHIP EIGHTY (H022): Sent for sampling post-race. HIGH RISE POWER (H353): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount did not travel well during the event and after the race was found to have its tongue over the bit. KYRUS UNICORN (D267): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. UP AND UP (H163): Approaching the 1100 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied to avoid KEEN UNITY. KEEN UNITY (G298): A Hamelin was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time. Near the 1150 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid HAKKA RADIANCE which was positioned tight to the inside of CORDYCEPS ONE. PANDA LEGEND (H002): Withdrawn on 19.4.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left front leg) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter CORDYCEPS ONE. Before being allowed to race again, PANDA LEGEND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

MUST GO (J133): Crowded on jumping after making contact with EVERYONE’S VICTORY. Near the 1000 Metres shifted out, made contact with SOLID SHALAA and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race. SOLID SHALAA (H228): Near the 1000 Metres MUST GO shifted out slightly after being crossed by ROBOT KNIGHT, resulting in MUST GO making contact with SOLID SHALAA and SOLID SHALAA becoming unbalanced when crowded between LUCKY BANNER and MUST GO. EVERYONE'S VICTORY (E177): Bumped at the start. VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401): For some distance near the 250 Metres raced tight between ROBOT KNIGHT and MUST GO. When giving ground in the Home Straight lay in. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY BANNER (G354): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ROBOT KNIGHT (H464): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. SPICY SPANGLE (J087): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. In the early stages raced keenly and refused to settle. HINOKAMI KAGURA (H384): Sent for sampling post-race. SMART LEADER (B456): No report. VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285): Sent for sampling post-race. HAPPY TANGO (D075): No report. MIRACLES (G083): Refused to load and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. The barrier manners of MIRACLES were considered unacceptable. The Stewards ruled that MIRACLES must barrier trial satisfactorily on a minimum of two consecutive occasions prior to racing again.

LAUGH TALE (G406): Near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied away from BEER PALACE. When questioned, H Bowman stated that his intention from the outside barrier was to go forward and lead the event if possible. He said his mount jumped only fairly, however, did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a forward position although he did not pressure his mount to do so. He added that with the pace of the event being run quicker than its most recent start, LAUGH TALE settled further back in the field. MARADO (E245): Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was crowded. Passing the 1400 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by CELTIC TIMES which shifted in and then was corrected by its rider K Teetan. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEER PALACE (H361): Noted to have blood at its left nostril due to a small abrasion at the Start. Examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. After the race, an endoscopic examination confirmed that the blood was present due to a small abrasion at its left nostril. Jumped only fairly and was crowded shortly after the start. FLYING MOJITO (G412): Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342): No report. SOARING BRONCO (J162): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. PING HAI COMET (H344): Approaching the finish raced tight to the inside of JOY OF SPRING and as a result could not be fully ridden out. C P ONE (J013): No report. CELTIC TIMES (G230): Bumped at the start. Leaving the 1400 Metres shifted in before being corrected by its rider and then shifted out when awkwardly placed behind BEER PALACE. Sent for sampling post-race. JOY OF SPRING (H383): Bumped at the start. For some distance near the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Sent for sampling post-race. SMART FIGHTER (H278): No report. TOP TOP TEA (H048): No report. FOREVER FOLKS (G463): Taken wider near the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CALIFORNIATOTALITY (H418): Became fractious in the barriers after being loaded and kicked out behind, resulting in both hind legs being cast on the barrier partition. Removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, CALIFORNIATOTALITY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIATOTALITY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Noted to have sustained a small wound below the left stifle after the race.

IMA SINGLE MAN (D476): No report. YOUNG ACHIEVER (J291): Jumped only fairly. PRAWNS ELEVEN (J140): In the early stages raced keenly. For some distance near the 450 Metres was crowded between SUNNY DARLING and CALL ME GLORIOUS and became unbalanced. SOLID IMPACT (E447): Approaching the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid PINS PRINCE which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race. BETTER LINK (J302): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils and also to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. Before being allowed to race again, BETTER LINK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race. LADY'S CHOICE (H155): Sent for sampling post-race. CALL ME GLORIOUS (H410): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Sent for sampling post-race. SEA AIR LEGEND (H318): No report. PINS PRINCE (G013): Jumped awkwardly. Near the 900 Metres raced tight to the inside of PRAWNS ELEVEN which, when racing keenly, was awkwardly positioned to the inside of LADY’S CHOICE. Making the turn after the 900 Metres lay out when reluctant to hold its position and as a result was steadied to avoid PRAWNS ELEVEN. Near the 450 Metres was severely checked to avoid BETTER LINK as that runner gave ground quickly. APOLAR FIGHTER (J169): No report. PARTERRE (E234): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, PARTERRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUNNY DARLING (J171): After the 500 Metres shifted to the outside of BETTER LINK as that runner commenced to give ground and near the 450 Metres became unbalanced when momentarily crowded between BETTER LINK which continued to give ground and PRAWNS ELEVEN which raced tight to the inside of CALL ME GLORIOUS.

ALL FOR ST PAUL'S (C517): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FLAMING RABBIT (H257): Jumped awkwardly. RUNNING GLORY (G010): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. LA CITY BLANCHE (G371): No report. THE BEST PEACH (H139): After the 200 Metres became held up behind SWEET ENCOUNTER and when being shifted to that runner’s outside had difficulty obtaining clear running until approaching the 100 Metres. Again became held up for clear running behind FLAMING RABBIT over the final 75 Metres and could not be fully tested to the finish of the event. CHILL CHIBI (H109): When questioned regarding his riding and the reason his mount raced wide and without cover from the 1200 Metres, C L Chau stated that after obtaining a position with cover behind ALACRITY, CHILL CHIBI was then taken wider when THE BEST PEACH shifted out. He said whilst there may have been an opportunity to obtain a trailing position behind THE BEST PEACH, he elected to remain racing wide and without cover from that point as the pace had eased. He added that as CHILL CHIBI is one-paced, he then attempted to allow his mount to stride forward into the event, but as the pace increased from the 800 Metres, he was unable to do so which resulted in CHILL CHIBI being obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. NATURAL STORM (C461): Over the final 100 Metres lay out under pressure and proved difficult to ride. Sent for sampling post-race. SWEET ENCOUNTER (G426): Bumped on jumping. After the race, Z Purton stated that with the pace of the event increasing from the 800 Metres, SWEET ENCOUNTER found it difficult to run out a strong 1800 Metres and gave ground over the final 100 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ALACRITY (H210): No report. PACKING HURRICANE (H137): No report. SPEED DRAGON (H380): No report. TURIN MASCOT (H165): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the reason he did not shift to the outside of SPEED DRAGON, M F Poon stated that on entering the Home Straight his mount was under pressure and not responding to his riding. He said as a result he elected to continue to follow CHILL CHIBI the favourite into the event with a view to then shifting to that runner’s outside should his mount improve. He added that approaching the 200 Metres TURIN MASCOT commenced to respond to his riding and when he then improved to the inside of SPEED DRAGON, he was unable to shift to that runner’s outside which resulted in TURIN MASCOT being held up for clear running over the final 150 Metres. Whilst the Stewards found the explanations provided by Jockey Poon were reasonable in the circumstances, he was advised, wherever possible, he should avail himself with opportunities to ensure that his mounts obtain clear running.

CHIU CHOW SPIRIT (H175): Sent for sampling post-race. FUN TOGETHER (H041): Near the 400 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced. When questioned regarding his mount racing further back in the field, C L Chau stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages, FUN TOGETHER did not show sufficient pace to hold a forward position. He added that when caught wide in the early stages, he attempted to obtain cover behind VIVA GRACIOUSNESS, but as his mount was travelling strongly and laying out, he was unable to do so which resulted in FUN TOGETHER being obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. PATCH OF THETA (H485): Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced. From the 300 Metres until the 200 Metres was held up for clear running and after the 200 Metres made contact with MAGNIFICENT NINE on a number of occasions as it obtained the run to the outside of CHIU CHOW SPIRIT. Sent for sampling post-race. MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433): Crowded shortly after the start. From near the 550 Metres until the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. For some distance after the 400 Metres became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by VIVA GRACIOUSNESS. Near the 200 Metres lay in and then made contact with PATCH OF THETA (H Bowman) which was improving to the outside of CHIU CHOW SPIRIT to obtain clear running. As a result, MAGNIFICENT NINE and PATCH OF THETA made contact on a number of occasions between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079): Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped shortly after. Making the Home Turn was crowded when racing in restricted room between FUN TOGETHER and MAGNIFICENT NINE (Z Purton) which, after shifting into a tight run to the outside of ORIENTAL TYCOON, was then taken out slightly by that runner. Z Purton was advised to exercise more care. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres VIVA GRACIOUSNESS continued to be crowded between FUN TOGETHER and MAGNIFICENT NINE which was taken out by ORIENTAL TYCOON (Apprentice Y L Chung), resulting in VIVA GRACIOUSNESS having to be steadied near the 300 Metres. Apprentice Chung was advised to exercise more care. AMAZING DUCK (H392): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. ORIENTAL TYCOON (J112): On arrival at the Start, Apprentice Y L Chung expressed concern with the horse’s action. ORIENTAL TYCOON was examined by the Veterinary Officer and after the necessary consultations said the horse was suitable to race. Was again examined by the Veterinary Officer after the race and found to have no significant findings. Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded between MAGNIFICENT NINE which shifted in slightly and PATCH OF THETA (H Bowman) which shifted out before being corrected by its rider. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. SATIRICAL FAN (J214): Jumped awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages when positioned to the inside of AMAZING DUCK. SMART CITY (J213): Bumped at the start. STELLAR SWIFT (J139): No report. BEAUTY MISSILE (H123): Jumped awkwardly, resulting in its rider K Teetan becoming unbalanced. Was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages from the outside barrier. CITY THUNDER (J173): No report. LET'S DO IT (E132): Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between MAGNIFICENT NINE which was taken out by CITY THUNDER and PATCH OF THETA which shifted in slightly.
