09/10/2022  Class 4  Shatin  All Weather Track    1650m   Going: GOOD  (8.31)    Rating: 055-040  

VICTORY PARK began very awkwardly and then lost ground on jumping when hampered by CASA LEGEND which was taken out by GREEN LASER. RUN THE TABLE shifted in at the start and bumped KING TOURBILLON. After this, KING TOURBILLON was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover and then made the turn after the 1200 Metres awkwardly. RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE was also steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, RUN THE TABLE was steadied to obtain a position with cover when racing wide. Approaching the 1400 Metres, RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE was steadied away from the heels of RUN THE TABLE (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not properly clear. M Chadwick was reprimanded and told to ensure that he exercises more care than he did on this occasion when shifting ground. OUR CREED travelled wide and without cover until near the 1000 Metres. Near the 500 Metres, RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE was steadied after attempting to shift out from behind YES WE CAN and inside PACKING MONEYKING where there was insufficient room. RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE was then shifted to the inside of YES WE CAN approaching the 400 Metres. Near the 250 Metres, H Bentley (CASA LEGEND) dropped his right rein. As H Bentley regathered the rein approaching the 200 Metres, CASA LEGEND shifted in. RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE, which was improving quickly behind CASA LEGEND, was steadied and directed out away from the heels of CASA LEGEND. RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE was then further steadied and shifted to the outside of GREEN LASER passing the 100 Metres to obtain clear running. The performances of VICTORY PARK, PACKING MONEYKING and CHIRON, all of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VICTORY PARK, PACKING MONEYKING and CHIRON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CHIRON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. YES WE CAN and RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE were sent for sampling.

09/10/2022  Class 4  Shatin  All Weather Track    1200m   Going: GOOD  (8.31)    Rating: 059-043  

OCTOCONNECT was slow to begin. MIGHTY VALOR began awkwardly. THUNDERSTRIKE and FIERY DIAMOND bumped on jumping. STARRY NIGHT stumbled at the start and for the majority of the race travelled wide and without cover. From wide barriers, TURBO POWER and PROSECCO were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. FIERY DIAMOND lost its right hind plate in the early stages. Approaching the 1000 Metres, FIERY DIAMOND momentarily raced tight inside THUNDERSTRIKE which shifted in before being directed back out to relieve the tightening to FIERY DIAMOND. In the middle stages, OCTOCONNECT gave ground and in the Home Straight collapsed, resulting in its rider, V Borges, being dislodged. Passing the 300 Metres, THUNDERSTRIKE raced tight outside STARRY NIGHT which in turn raced tight outside MIGHTY VALOR. After the race, L Currie reported that MOERAKI travelled well in the early and middle stages and he anticipated that the horse would finish the race off well. He said MOERAKI quickened satisfactorily for a short distance in the early part of the Straight when placed under pressure, however, after the 300 Metres came under heavy pressure and then did not finish the race off as expected. A veterinary inspection of MOERAKI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FIERY DIAMOND, MAGIC SUPREME and THUNDERSTRIKE were sent for sampling. Samples were also taken from OCTOCONNECT.

MAJESTIC STAR, which kicked a rail in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. SILVER FIG was slow to begin. MAJESTIC STAR was bumped by CAMPIONE which shifted out on jumping. Then throughout the race MAJESTIC STAR travelled wide and without cover. WINNING DREAMER lay in under pressure in the Straight. After the race, S De Sousa stated that after shifting his mount to the outside of runners at the entrance to the Straight, SILVER FIG finished the race off only fairly. After the race, it was reported that WINNING DREAMER had sustained a cut to the right front leg. CAMPIONE, MAJESTIC STAR and WE THE SOUTH were sent for sampling.

SUNNY BABY and THE GOOD DEAL, which both kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, were examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race. TOWARDS SUCCESS, which kicked a rail on entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race. On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to G ONE EXCELLENT was refitted. M M JOHNNY began only fairly. APEX TOP shifted out at the start, resulting in AURORA HERO being crowded for room inside THE GOOD DEAL. U W BROTHER shifted out on jumping and inconvenienced SUNNY BABY. BOYS PARTY began awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From the outside barrier, TOWARDS SUCCESS was steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, BRAVE POWER failed to muster speed and was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, TOWARDS SUCCESS travelled keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions. Near the 800 Metres, GOLD COMET was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 600 Metres, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was shifted out away from the heels of GOLD COMET which was commencing to give ground, resulting in TAKINGUFURTHER being taken wider. At the 500 Metres, BOYS PARTY raced tight between GOLD COMET and SUNNY BABY which was shifted to the outside of AURORA HERO. Then approaching the 300 Metres, BOYS PARTY was inconvenienced when crowded for room outside SUNNY BABY which was taken out by AURORA HERO. Passing the 50 Metres, S De Sousa (AURORA HERO) dropped his whip. When questioned, S De Sousa stated that after riding his mount along in the early stages, AURORA HERO became unbalanced of its own accord near the 1200 Metres and lost ground. He said he had to ride AURORA HERO vigorously after this in an attempt to maintain its position and prevent G ONE EXCELLENT from crossing AURORA HERO. He said despite being ridden along AURORA HERO was reluctant to maintain its position and he was unable to prevent G ONE EXCELLENT from shifting in approaching the 800 Metres. He added that after the 800 Metres AURORA HERO travelled satisfactorily, however, again became unbalanced of its own accord at the entrance to the Straight. He said after this AURORA HERO switched lead legs and then finished the race off satisfactorily. When AURORA HERO became unbalanced near the 1200 Metres, SUNNY BABY, which was following, got its head up when being shifted out behind that horse in consequence. After the race, it was reported that CIRCUIT SPLENDOR had sustained an abrasion to its right hind coronet. A veterinary inspection of GOLD COMET and BOYS PARTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUNNY BABY and WINWIN THIRTYTHREE were sent for sampling.

MARVEL DRAGON bumped the inside of its stall on jumping and then shifted out, resulting in TRIUMPHANT RETURN, which was also inclined to lay in, being steadied away from the heels of MARVEL DRAGON and losing ground. HAPPY TRIO began awkwardly and then was crowded for room on jumping between E BROTHER and KING OF THE COURT which shifted out. BEAUTY ETERNAL began only fairly and then after the 900 Metres was left racing wide and without cover. From wide barriers, MASTER OF LUCK and GOLDEN FAIRY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. PRIME MORTAR lost its left hind plate approaching the 1000 Metres. Approaching the 900 Metres, MARVEL DRAGON raced tight inside the heels of WAR WEAPON which got its head on the side and lay in despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 550 Metres, FORTUNE TURBO and BEAUTY ETERNAL bumped. FORTUNE TURBO then shifted in and inconvenienced SPARTAN MISSILE. MASTER OF LUCK, which was following FORTUNE TURBO, got its head up when awkwardly placed behind that horse in consequence. Near the 250 Metres, MARVEL DRAGON was directed out away from the heels of WAR WEAPON which shifted out under pressure before being corrected. After the 50 Metres, TRIUMPHANT RETURN raced tight inside the heels of PRIME MORTAR. After the race, S De Sousa stated that from barrier 9 he had to make a lot of use of KING OF THE COURT to obtain a forward position. He said despite being ridden along for some distance KING OF THE COURT was not able to cross WAR WEAPON to its inside and consequently raced wide and without cover throughout. He believed that the amount of use he had to make of KING OF THE COURT together with the horse covering ground resulted in it not being able to finish today’s race off. A veterinary inspection of KING OF THE COURT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of WAR WEAPON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY ETERNAL and REGENCY BO BO were sent for sampling.

HELENE WISDOM STAR and TRUE LEGEND bumped at the start. HANDSOME TWELVE was crowded for room on jumping between SUPER DYNAMITE and CHANCHENG PRINCE which began awkwardly and shifted out. PEGASUS GENERAL began only fairly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of BLOTTING PAPER. CLASSIC ARCHI was inconvenienced on jumping outside LIGHTNING BOLT which stumbled at the start and was then taken out by WORLD FAMOUS. From the outside barriers, AMAZING TEENS and RED MAJESTY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Also from a wide barrier, LIGHTNING BOLT was steadied on jumping to obtain a position closer to the rail. Passing the 1050 Metres, LIGHTNING BOLT got its head up when awkwardly placed behind HANDSOME TWELVE. WORLD FAMOUS travelled wide and without cover until the 800 Metres at which time SUPER DYNAMITE was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 300 Metres, TRUE LEGEND was shifted out away from the heels of INFINITE POWER. The performances of WORLD FAMOUS and CLASSIC ARCHI, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WORLD FAMOUS and CLASSIC ARCHI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, C Y Ho stated that when racing wide, SUPER DYNAMITE made the turn after the 700 Metres awkwardly and was inclined to lay out. He said SUPER DYNAMITE continued to lay out rounding the Home Turn which resulted in HANDSOME TWELVE being able to improve its position between SUPER DYNAMITE and CHANCHENG PRINCE. He said SUPER DYNAMITE shifted out away from HANDSOME TWELVE in the early part of the Straight and it was not until approaching the 200 Metres that the horse commenced to race more tractably and therefore he was able to ride it out over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of SUPER DYNAMITE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, L Ferraris stated that HELENE WISDOM STAR did not feel comfortable in its action over the concluding stages. He said after being placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight HELENE WISDOM STAR did not respond to his riding and shortened stride over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of HELENE WISDOM STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, HELENE WISDOM STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of TRUE LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HANDSOME TWELVE and CHANCHENG PRINCE were sent for sampling.

LESLIE was slow to begin. ALL IS GOOD shifted out at the start and inconvenienced SPARKY STAR. SO YOU TRUST shifted out on jumping and bumped WIDE BLUE YONDER. From wide barriers, DRAGON PRIDE, RED IMPACT and HK DRAGON were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 1300 Metres, SUPER RED DRAGON was shifted out away from the heels of INDIGENOUS REALM which was taken out by STAND UP. STAND UP travelled keenly approaching and passing the 1200 Metres when being steadied to obtain cover. Then near the 950 Metres, STAND UP was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WIDE BLUE YONDER when being crossed by that horse. After the 700 Metres, SO YOU TRUST was awkwardly placed close to the heels of INDIGENOUS REALM. Approaching the 600 Metres, INDIGENOUS REALM and HK DRAGON raced tight as HK DRAGON improved around INDIGENOUS REALM which attempted to shift to the outside of STAND UP. Rounding the Home Turn, DRAGON PRIDE was shifted out away from the heels of HK DRAGON which made the turn awkwardly after being directed out away from the heels of STAND UP which was racing tight outside LESLIE. After the 300 Metres, SPARKY STAR was shifted to the inside of WIDE BLUE YONDER and FIRE BALL to obtain clear running. Then approaching the 100 Metres, SPARKY STAR raced tight inside FIRE BALL. LET’S DO IT travelled wide and without cover throughout. A veterinary inspection of HK DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ALL IS GOOD, FIRE BALL and WIDE BLUE YONDER were sent for sampling.

CALIFORNIA RAD was withdrawn on 8.10.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ATOMIC FORCE. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA RAD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When being saddled up, SPONTANEOUS became fractious, reared and made contact with a rail. SPONTANEOUS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that the horse was suitable to proceed to the Start. On arrival at the Start, SPONTANEOUS was examined by a further Veterinary Officer who said that the horse was suitable to race. CZARSON shifted out at the start, resulting in SPONTANEOUS being crowded for room inside BRILLIANT LIFE which was hampered after being bumped on the hindquarters by SPONTANEOUS. Then throughout the race, BRILLIANT LIFE travelled wide and without cover. LIKE THAT began awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of MAN STAR. After this, LIKE THAT was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed and was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. EXCELLENT DADDY and RED DESERT bumped at the start. Rounding the Home Turn, ATOMIC FORCE was tightened for room between MAN STAR and MAXIMUS (S De Sousa) which shifted out. S De Sousa was told to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. In this incident, MAN STAR became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by MAXIMUS. Approaching the 400 Metres, EXCELLENT DADDY and LIKE THAT bumped as EXCELLENT DADDY attempted to shift to the outside of SPONTANEOUS. When unable to improve outside SPONTANEOUS, EXCELLENT DADDY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on EXCELLENT DADDY at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, EXCELLENT DADDY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ATOMIC FORCE and LIKE THAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MAN STAR and MAXIMUS were sent for sampling.

NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE began only fairly. KILINDINI shifted out at the start and bumped SUPER BABY. After this, from wide barriers, KILINDINI and SUPER BABY were shifted across behind runners. Also from a wide barrier, MASTER MONTARO was steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail. KASA PAPA travelled keenly approaching and passing the 800 Metres. After the 500 Metres, KASA PAPA and SKY FOREVER bumped as KASA PAPA attempted to improve between that horse and DECRYPT. Passing the 300 Metres, KILINDINI was shifted to the inside of RED TITAN to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, BEAUTY CHAMP travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CIRCUIT NINE, M Chadwick stated that he had hoped to have CIRCUIT NINE positioned in about midfield or slightly behind midfield if possible. He said CIRCUIT NINE did not show any early speed after being hampered by SKY FOREVER which shifted out on jumping. He said he rode CIRCUIT NINE along after this in an endeavour to improve its position and passing the 1200 Metres CIRCUIT NINE shifted in abruptly away from the heels of KILINDINI. He said when this happened CIRCUIT NINE appeared to lose concentration as the horse was reluctant to maintain its position and changed lead legs on a number of occasions. He said he had to ride his mount along throughout the middle stages and CIRCUIT NINE did not respond to his riding and then finished the race off only one-paced in the Straight. He added that he was of the opinion that the addition of blinkers at some stage in the future may benefit CIRCUIT NINE and assist the horse in concentrating better in the middle stages. Subsequent to the race, Mr A S Cruz, the trainer of CIRCUIT NINE, indicated that he would experiment with the gear worn by CIRCUIT NINE prior to the horse’s next race start. A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT NINE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of CIRCUIT NINE, a favoured runner for today’s race which finished towards the rear of the field, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT NINE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KASA PAPA at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on WINNER METHOD at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WINNER METHOD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ERIMO and WINNER METHOD were sent for sampling.

GALAXY WITNESS began only fairly and then was brushed by SPIRITED EXPRESS which shifted out. C P BRAVE also began only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After travelling a short distance, BEAUTY FIT was crowded for room between TIANCHI MONSTER and SILVER EXPRESS which shifted in. This resulted in TIANCHI MONSTER, BEAUTY FIT and SILVER EXPRESS all becoming unbalanced. Passing the 1100 Metres, SPIRITED EXPRESS raced tight inside SILVER EXPRESS which shifted in away from the heels of PACKING VICTORY. Near the 850 Metres, PACKING VICTORY was steadied away from the heels of KEEFY (S De Sousa) which shifted in when not properly clear. S De Sousa was reprimanded and told to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in future. After the 1000 Metres, NAVAS TWO was left racing wide and without cover and then in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of NAVAS TWO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the 700 Metres, BEAUTY FIT commenced to travel keenly and shifted out away from the heels of APACHE PASS. After this, BEAUTY FIT travelled wide and without cover. When BEAUTY FIT shifted out, C P BRAVE improved into tight running inside BEAUTY FIT which resulted in C P BRAVE and TIANCHI MONSTER racing tight. GALAXY WITNESS, which was racing inside TIANCHI MONSTER, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPIRITED EXPRESS in consequence. GALAXY WITNESS then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. SPIRITED EXPRESS and TIANCHI MONSTER were held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 50 Metres, C P BRAVE raced tight outside APACHE PASS which itself was racing tight outside the heels of PACKING VICTORY. In the Straight, PACKING VICTORY lay out under pressure. A veterinary inspection of SILVER EXPRESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GALAXY WITNESS, PACKING VICTORY and SAUVESTRE were sent for sampling.
