THE KHAN (H489): Bumped shortly after the start. Approaching the 150 Metres was hampered when taken wider. After the event, H Bowman stated that after being contacted by COUNTRY DANCER approaching the 150 Metres his mount failed to finish the race off thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING HEART (H065): Near the 150 Metres shifted out and away from THE KHAN. After the event, H Bentley reported that the intention was to settle a little closer on his mount, but after jumping well WINNING HEART took up a forward position and was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. COUNTRY DANCER (H436): Shortly after the start was severely checked when crowded between SAME TO YOU which shifted in slightly and CHEER FOR SOUTH which was taken out by SPICY SO SMART (M Chadwick) which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. The Stewards were satisfied that M Chadwick had endeavoured to correct his mount as it started to shift ground and therefore no action was taken. When questioned, Z Purton stated that after being held up making the Home Turn he then commenced to ride his mount along to improve to the outside of VIVA A LA (M F Poon) approaching the 150 Metres. He said as he endeavoured to shift to that runner’s outside, VIVA A LA shifted out which resulted in his mount being held up and having to be shifted out further to avoid that runner’s heels and making contact with THE KHAN which was taken wider. Z Purton and M F Poon were advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race. SUPER ELITE (H247): When questioned regarding his riding on the Home Turn and the reason he elected to improve to the inside of VIVA A LA, K Teetan stated that his instructions were to endeavour to follow a horse into the race as SUPER ELITE had not finished its races off strongly when improving to the outside of runners. He added that as a result when VIVA A LA shifted out slightly on the Home Turn, he elected to improve to that runner’s inside and follow SPICY SO SMART to ride in accordance with his instructions. He further stated that after being briefly held up on the Home Turn, SUPER ELITE was able to follow SPICY SO SMART into the Home Straight where it finished the race off reasonably well. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and the reason why such instructions were issued. Sent for sampling post-race. SPICY SO SMART (G203): Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Sent for sampling post-race. VIVA A LA (G282): M F Poon was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 1000 Metres (see SUNNY SHINES). SAME TO YOU (H057): Shifted in slightly on jumping and a short distance later was bumped heavily on the hindquarters and became badly unbalanced. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance approaching the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from SUPER ELITE. After the 600 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight between CHEER FOR SOUTH and THE KHAN which was racing tight to the inside of WINNING HEART (H Bentley). H Bentley was advised to exercise more care and to ensure he provides sufficient racing room to runners on his inside. After the 400 Metres was checked when crowded between THE KHAN (H Bowman) which shifted in slightly and CHEER FOR SOUTH which was steadied when crowded by SUPER ELITE (K Teetan) which, after improving into a tight run to the inside of VIVA A LA (M F Poon), was then taken in by that runner. After considering all of the evidence, Jockey Bowman was advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside, Jockey Teetan was advised to ensure that there is sufficient racing room when he is improving and Jockey Poon was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift back in after VIVA A LA initially shifted out on the Home Turn. After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount raced tight for some distance after the 700 Metres and was then checked at the 400 Metres when crowded. He said as a result SAME TO YOU did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY FEELING (H443): Jumped only fairly. JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295): Bumped shortly after the start. Approaching the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of WINNING HEART and THE KHAN to continue into clear running. Again after the 100 Metres JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP continued to be shifted to the inside of VIVA A LA and CHEER FOR SOUTH to continue into clear running. CHEER FOR SOUTH (H178): Badly crowded shortly after the start. On the Home Turn was steadied when crowded. MORE RICE (H271): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, C L Chau confirmed that from a wide barrier and his mount racing first up today, he was instructed to ride it conservatively in the early stages. Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued. SUNNY SHINES (H484): Shortly after the start shifted in slightly and bumped with THE KHAN. A short distance later then raced tight between THE KHAN and WINNING HEART. M F Poon (VIVA A LA) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of WINNING HEART, resulting in WINNING HEART being crowded and taken in onto SUNNY SHINES, resulting in SUNNY SHINES also being crowded and losing its rightful running. After assessing the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and having regard to his excellent record, the Stewards determined the appropriate penalty to be a reprimand.

NOBLE PURSUIT (H324): Held up for some distance after the 400 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. CALIFORNIA VOCE (H258): No report. ROMANTIC LAOS (G476): Jumped only fairly. FORTUNE SUPERSTAR (J210): Bumped after the 150 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BRIGHT INHERITANCE (J215): Jumped only fairly. RED MAJESTY (E028): Held up for some distance after the 400 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276): Sent for sampling post-race. SILVER KING (H420): No report. WINNING STEPS (G420): Lay in in the Home Straight and after the 150 Metres made contact with FORTUNE SUPERSTAR.

VIVA CHALEUR (G368): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, A Atzeni confirmed that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions and said such instructions were issued as VIVA CHALEUR had raced below expectation when being ridden in a more forward position at its previous race starts. CAPITAL LEGEND (G333): Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to UNITED ENDEAVORS as that runner shifted out slightly. After the event, H Bowman advised that he was obliged to make a wide run on the Home Turn and in the Home Straight CAPITAL LEGEND finished the race off fairly, but he was not too disappointed with the horse’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. I AM THE BOSS (H446): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079): After the event, M Chadwick stated that as connections had not expected there would be strong pace in the race, he was given the option to take up a more forward position, particularly as VIVA GRACIOUSNESS is generally one-paced when placed under pressure. Sent for sampling post-race. BRAVE WITNESS (H425): As the start was effected lunged forward and made contact with the front of the starting gates whilst being assisted by a starting gate handler. As a result, BRAVE WITNESS lost considerable ground at the start. As the Stewards were satisfied that such incident had occurred simultaneously to the start being effected, BRAVE WITNESS was declared a runner. Before being allowed to race again, BRAVE WITNESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. From the 800 Metres improved forward and raced wide and without cover thereafter before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a small wound to its left hind leg. STAR LINE (J110): After the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of GALLANT CROWN to attempt to obtain clear running and near the 150 Metres was disappointed and shifted to the outside of GALLANT CROWN to continue into clear running. Over the concluding stages STAR LINE could not be ridden out when positioned close to VIVA CHALEUR. STURDY RUBY (H207): Sent for sampling post-race. TRADITION (J111): No report. UNITED ENDEAVORS (G030): No report. COURIER MAGIC (H290): Was fractious whilst being transported to the course, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Near the 900 Metres COURIER MAGIC and I AM THE BOSS contested a position behind BRAVE WITNESS when that runner commenced a forward move three wide. When I AM THE BOSS (L Hewitson) maintained its position behind and slightly to the outside of BRAVE WITNESS, COURIER MAGIC was then checked when disappointed for this position. In taking no action, the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Hewitson had ridden his mount in accordance with the Rules and that COURIER MAGIC had not fully established the run behind BRAVE WITNESS. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. GALLANT CROWN (D359): No report. THE AZURE (J227): Jumped only fairly. Held up on the Home Turn before shifting to the inside of STURDY RUBY to obtain clear running.

DENFIELD (G471): Sent for sampling post-race. YEAH BUDDY (J430): Making the first turn became badly unbalanced when crowded by FUNG (H T Mo) which shifted in when racing to the inside of SWEET DIAMOND which resulted in YEAH BUDDY then making contact with VALHALLA and YEAH BUDDY being turned in towards that runner. H T Mo was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstanced he would be expected to leave comfortable racing room for runners to his inside. LAKESHORE HERO (J288): Jumped awkwardly, made contact with THE PRIME, became unbalanced and lost ground. QINGYUAN STAR (J350): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. THE PRIME (J352): No report. LUCKY PLANET (H235): When questioned, H Bentley stated that his mount began only fairly and then he was able to improve in the early stages to the inside of VALHALLA and obtain the lead on the first turn. He said LUCKY PLANET was able to control the lead at standard time, but in the Home Straight responded only fairly to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. SWEET DIAMOND (G063): Made the first turn wide before being steadied to obtain cover behind FUNG. ALMIGHTY KICK (J254): No report. SPEED SWORD (H397): On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to SPEED SWORD was refitted. Jumped only fairly. YOUNG HORIZON (G272): Sent for sampling post-race. VALHALLA (E495): On the first turn after the 1000 Metres was crowded for room and became unbalanced. FUNG (J101): When questioned, H T Mo stated that his instructions were to endeavour to hold a forward position, preferably behind the leaders. He said when ridden along in the early stages FUNG was unable to cross the runners to his inside and as a consequence raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. ERNEST FEELING (E209): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THE PERFECT MATCH (J253): Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between INVINCIBLE DELIGHT which was taken out slightly by GIMME FIVE and TACTICAL COMMAND (A Badel) which shifted in. A Badel was reprimanded. When questioned, H Bowman stated that his mount, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, commenced to race keenly in the early stages after obtaining a position with cover behind INVINCIBLE DELIGHT. He said as a consequence he was obliged to check to avoid the heels of INVINCIBLE DELIGHT approaching the 1000 Metres, shifted out and made the first turn wider. TELECOM DRAGON (H322): No report. INVINCIBLE DELIGHT (J372): No report. VIGOR ELLEEGANT (J375): After the event, M L Yeung confirmed that from his wide barrier he was requested to take up a forward position and ride his mount in a similar manner when successful in a barrier trial on 5 October 2024. Trainer K L Man confirmed the instructions and the reason why such instructions were issued. GOLDEN DARCI (H470): A Badel (TACTICAL COMMAND) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of GOLDEN DARCI, resulting in GOLDEN DARCI having to be checked away from the heels of TACTICAL COMMAND. A Badel was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. SMART FIGHTER (H278): On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to SMART FIGHTER was refitted. Sent for sampling post-race. TACTICAL COMMAND (H197): A Badel pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 1000 Metres (see GOLDEN DARCI). Sent for sampling post-race. GIMME FIVE (J099): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of GIMME FIVE, Z Purton stated that with the pace of the event being run slightly inside of standard time in the early stages, his mount was under pressure to hold its on-pace position. He said when SMART FIGHTER shifted away from the rail near the 500 Metres, GIMME FIVE commenced to improve into the event and then was awkwardly placed close to SMART FIGHTER, resulting in him having to steady his mount. He said after this GIMME FIVE did not respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GIMME FIVE was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, GIMME FIVE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SKY PROPHET (J095): Brushed a running rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. HOSS (H055): Jumped awkwardly. DAY DAY VICTORY (J423): Withdrawn on raceday morning after sustaining a wound to the head whilst being transported to the course. Before being allowed to race again, DAY DAY VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

VOLCANIC SPARK (H388): After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount is better suited on the Sha Tin track and this was the main reason for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229): When caught wide and without cover in the early stages was allowed to stride forward and obtain a position outside the lead approaching the 1000 Metres. SERANGOON (H296): No report. PERFECT PAIRING (J331): Approaching the finish could not be ridden out when improving close behind ARTHUR’S KINGDOM. DRAGON STAR (H128): Shifted out on jumping and was bumped. CHARITY GAIN (H431): Crowded at the start. Sent for sampling post-race. HAPPY HERO (G322): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, L Hewitson stated that in accordance with its usual racing pattern from wide barriers, he was asked to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added that in the Home Straight HAPPY HERO did not respond to his riding and was somewhat disappointing. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. JUBILATION (G029): M L Yeung was warned in relation to raising his whip arm above shoulder height over the concluding stages. ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194): Sent for sampling post-race. ME TIME (J074): Jumped only fairly. PEGASUS GENERAL (G189): No report. INTREPID WINNER (G144): Whilst being saddled fell over and took some time to regain its feet. Acting on veterinary advice that INTREPID WINNER was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. MODEST GENTLEMAN (G352): Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between MA COMET and RUBY SAILING which shifted out and away from VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE after being taken out by that runner. MA COMET (H391): When questioned, Z Purton stated that over the concluding stages his mount, when under pressure, shifted in and away from HAPPY TANGO and as a result, when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE, he elected to steady his mount. He added that, in his opinion, MA COMET may derive benefit from today’s performance as it had been approximately 6 weeks since its last race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. KOKUSHI MUSOU (G006): Crowded after improving to the inside of SIGHT HAPPY after the 600 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GRAND NOVA (J323): After the event, H Bowman stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount responded satisfactorily to his riding and he was not too disappointed with the performance of the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE (J216): No report. BULB EMPEROR (J241): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. RACINGRACE (J102): Jumped awkwardly and raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. SIGHT HAPPY (J261): Hung out making the turn after the 600 Metres. After the 50 Metres was disappointed for clear running between MA COMET and HAPPY TANGO, resulting in SIGHT HAPPY having to be steadied and shifted to the outside of HAPPY TANGO to continue into clear running. CIRCUIT SEVEN (D474): Bumped on jumping. Sent for sampling post-race. HAPPY TANGO (D075): Sent for sampling post-race. SUPER SIXTY (J071): Bumped on jumping. RUBY SAILING (H347): Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. COLOURFUL PRINCE (E418): Withdrawn on 24.10.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MODEST GENTLEMAN. Before being allowed to race again, COLOURFUL PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

REWARD SMILE (H256): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race and coughed post-race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, REWARD SMILE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CELESTIAL COLOURS (H362): Shifted in on jumping and was bumped. BRIGHT DAY (J530): No report. RISING FROM ASHES (G209): On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to RISING FROM ASHES was replaced. Crowded on jumping. After the 500 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied away from FIND MY LOVE. EQUATORIAL (J128): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. FIND MY LOVE (H110): Jumped awkwardly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. YOUNG EMPEROR (K011): Over the concluding stages lay in, placing its rider L Ferraris at a disadvantage in that he could not fully test the horse to the finish. FLYING HIGH (E204): Jumped awkwardly. YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. ATOMIC FORCE (G221): No report. RED ELEGANCE (H241): Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of HORSEPOWER. Sent for sampling post-race. ALLGREEKTOME (H007): Sent for sampling post-race. ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010): After the event, L Hewitson reported that the intention was to find a handy position with cover. He said in the early stages when RED ELEGANCE was positioned to his inside, he was obliged to allow ETERNAL FORTUNE to go forward and cross that runner and race outside the lead to avoid racing wide. HEALTHY HEALTHY (H203): No report. BUNTA BABY (J465): Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between FLYING HIGH and HAPPY UNITED which jumped awkwardly and shifted in. After the event, A Badel reported that his mount failed to stretch out in the early stages despite his efforts to ride it along. He added that he could not identify anything amiss with the horse. COPARTNER PRANCE (H408): Sent for sampling post-race. SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092): On jumping knuckled over, became unbalanced and lost ground. Near the 900 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by DANCING CODE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. After the event, H Bowman stated that after losing ground at the start SUPERB CAPITALIST settled further back than anticipated and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. BEAUTY CHARGE (G231): Bumped shortly after the start. LUCKY ENCOUNTER (H274): Sent for sampling post-race. GORGEOUS WIN (J008): Near the 1150 Metres was placed in restricted room between SING DRAGON and WONDERSTAR which shifted out slightly. Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied and crowded by DANCING CODE which was taken in by TOMODACHI KOKOROE (K Teetan) which lay in at that point. K Teetan was advised to exercise more care and to make a greater effort in similar circumstances to prevent his mounts from shifting in. After the event, M F Poon stated that after his mount was crowded in the early stages, it was then obliged to race very wide and without cover thereafter. He added as a consequence GORGEOUS WIN was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. RAGING BLIZZARD (H368): Jumped awkwardly and was checked shortly after when crowded between SING DRAGON and DANCING CODE which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Held up on the Home Turn. DANCING CODE (G365): After the event, A Badel stated that after his mount commenced well, he was able to obtain a handy position, however, DANCING CODE travelled a little keenly and as a result did not finish the race off strongly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SEASONS WIT (H223): Approaching the 450 Metres was bumped by SIX PACK which shifted in. SING DRAGON (J141): Jumped awkwardly and was crowded shortly after the start. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. WONDERSTAR (J531): No report. SIX PACK (K061): Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by LUCKY ENCOUNTER which shifted out. Shifted in approaching the 450 Metres and was bumped.
