KARATE EXPRESS (J306): Bumped on the hindquarters at the start. The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in as they were of the view that an incident had occurred near the 200 Metres which cast doubt on whether SANTORINI (K Teetan) should be declared the winner of the race. Subsequently L Hewitson, the rider of KARATE EXPRESS, 2nd placegetter, lodged a protest/objection against SANTORINI being declared the winner alleging interference near the 200 Metres. After considering the evidence including the patrol films, the Stewards found that KARATE EXPRESS initially shifted out and away from SANTORINI and became awkwardly placed close to PATCH OF COSMO, but could not be comfortably satisfied that KARATE EXPRESS had established clear running between SANTORINI and PATCH OF COSMO near the 200 Metres. Whilst they were satisfied that SANTORINI had shifted out a short distance later and hampered KARATE EXPRESS, as they could not comfortably satisfied that KARATE EXPRESS had established clear running, the protest/objection was overruled and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the judge. K Teetan was advised to exercise more care. L Hewitson pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference over the concluding stages (see PATCH OF COSMO). Sent for sampling post-race. CALIFORNIA BANNER (J132): Jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131): No report. SANTORINI (J076): Sent for sampling post-race. SMART ZIPANG (J165): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. ALWAYS MY FOLKS (J345): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CASHISCASH (J369): Near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from ALWAYS MY FOLKS. GOOD PROSPECT (J406): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. KA YING RESILIENCE (J439): When questioned, Z Purton stated that he was given no specific instructions due to the wide barrier that his mount commenced from. He said when KA YING RESILIENCE jumped well today, he elected to make use of his mount in the early stages to go forward. He said when caught wide he was obliged to continue to ride his mount forward to cross to the lead to avoid racing wide, but when being shifted in to cross to the lead near the 1000 Metres, his mount commenced to race keenly and got its head up for a short distance thereafter. He added KA YING RESILIENCE continued to race keenly throughout the middle stages. Trainer D A Hayes confirmed that he issued no specific instructions to Jockey Purton and that Jockey Purton was to ride the horse dependent upon how it commenced today. PATCH OF COSMO (J357): L Ferraris, who weighed in at 123 lbs, was fined the sum of $3,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight. Near the 1150 Metres was bumped by GOOD PROSPECT which shifted in slightly, resulting in PATCH OF COSMO becoming unbalanced. L Hewitson (KARATE EXPRESS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that over the concluding stages he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of PATCH OF COSMO, resulting in PATCH OF COSMO being contacted by KARATE EXPRESS and being taken from its rightful running. Having regard to Jockey Hewitson holding confirmed riding engagements for the remainder of the season and in accordance with previous practices, he was fined the sum of $60,000 in lieu of a one-day suspension. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good careless riding record. SMILING EMPEROR (J371): Jumped only fairly. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and as to whether there was an opportunity to shift to the outside to obtain clear running, H Bentley stated that after commencing to ride his mount along in the early part of the Home Straight, he elected to improve to the inside of CASHISCASH. He added when CASHISCASH shifted in near the 300 Metres, as he was committed to that runner’s inside, he was not able to shift to its outside to secure clear running. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Bentley were reasonable in the circumstances. SUPREME WINNER (J255): Crowded shortly after the start between SMILING EMPEROR and KARATE EXPRESS which shifted in slightly. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.

He added in the Home Straight COOL BLUE failed to respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner. Trainer F C Lor advised that he would now not race COOL BLUE for the remainder of the season. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SONIC BOOM (H144): Shortly after the start was bumped by SMART FOLKS which shifted out. Then raced tight between FOXHUNTER WAY and BULB PRINCE for a short distance near the 250 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. PAKISTAN FRIEND (B370): For a short distance approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing tight between BULB PRINCE and FOXHUNTER WAY. Noted to have lost its right hind plate and have sustained a wound to the sole of the right hind foot after the race. JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295): Crowded at the start. Near the 300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by HAPPY HUNK. After the race, A Hamelin reported that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BULB PRINCE (G179): No report. ASIAN ONE (E400): Bumped at the start. For a short distance near the 450 Metres raced tight between JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP and HAPPY HUNK which shifted out slightly. After the race, H Bowman stated that his mount raced keenly due to the race being run outside of standard time in the early and middle stages. He said after being briefly crowded on the Home Turn, ASIAN ONE failed to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MEDIC ELITE (G129): On jumping was checked when crowded between FOXHUNTER WAY and JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP which shifted out after being crowded by DIAMOND DIAMOND. Approaching the 350 Metres became held up for clear running behind SMART BEAUTY and did not obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres. DIAMOND DIAMOND (H189): Approaching the 300 Metres shifted out slightly and then was bumped on the hindquarters by HAPPY HUNK which shifted in slightly. As a result, DIAMOND DIAMOND became unbalanced and shifted out when being corrected by its rider L Hewitson. After the race, L Hewitson reported that his mount raced keenly through the early and middle stages and as a result shifted to the outside of FOXHUNTER WAY after the 900 Metres and raced wide and without cover thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DIAMOND DIAMOND, which gave ground quickly in the Home Straight, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DIAMOND DIAMOND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments. CHARMANDER (G437): After the race, K De Melo reported that he was instructed to be positive early and to place his mount where it raced most comfortably. He said with the slow pace early, he made a decision to go forward and lead. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions issued, particularly as it was racing with visors for the first time today. HAPPY HUNK (H101): Approaching the 300 Metres bumped with DIAMOND DIAMOND and was then hampered when taken out by DIAMOND DIAMOND. SUPERB DADDY (D235): Jumped only fairly. HAPPY HOLIDAY (J240): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. ROBOT KNIGHT (H464): Sent for sampling post-race. CURRAHEE (J204): No report. ACA POWER (E144): Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between ACE VICTORY which shifted out and EURO ROCKS which shifted in after being bumped by COSMO NAVIGATOR which jumped awkwardly. SHANGHAI STYLE (J093): When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer C S Shum stated that at its first race start and its most recent start, SHANGHAI STYLE had been found to be lame in the right hind leg which he attributed to the horse’s disappointing performance. He said after its last start SHANGHAI STYLE was given a spell and moved to his Conghua stable where it had barrier trialed well on 27 June 2024 prior to today’s event. He added SHANGHAI STYLE was benefited by being able to dictate the race in front and also had derived benefit from its previous race day experiences. Sent for sampling post-race. ACE VICTORY (H076): Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. After the race, K C Leung reported that his mount, which was having its first race start on the All Weather Track, did not like the kickback on this surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. HINOKAMI KAGURA (H384): Sent for sampling post-race. SKY SONG (J159): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156): Jumped awkwardly. CRAZY TREASURE (J063): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. SPANGLE FORTUNE (G427): After the race, Y L Chung stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FLYING DRAGON (E360): Withdrawn on 5.7.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter ACE VICTORY. Before being allowed to race again, FLYING DRAGON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SAVVY CHIC (G261): The Stewards today inquired into the circumstances of SAVVY CHIC being entered for this event when it had been treated with a inhale bronchodilator medication inside the recommended withdrawal period, which resulted in SAVVY CHIC being withdrawn from this event by order of the Stewards on 3 July 2024. Evidence was today taken from Mr F C Lor, trainer of SAVVY CHIC. It was established that due to the late closure of entries for this event the stable had not implemented the usual warning systems to prevent the treatment within the recommended withdrawal period. Mr Lor was fined the sum of $20,000 under Rule 50(5) for failing to adhere to the requirements of Trainers’ Handbook Regulation 69(h) in that he failed to take all proper precautions to ensure the recommended withdrawal period is applied to the administration of any medication containing a prohibited substance. Before being allowed to race again, SAVVY CHIC will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

TOP SCORER (J120): When questioned, H Bowman stated that after obtaining a position behind the leaders, his mount became awkward in its action near the 850 Metres. He said when he was concerned that there may be something amiss with TOP SCORER, he then eased it out of the event a short distance thereafter. Trainer J Size could offer no explanation in relation to Jockey Bowman’s assessment of the horse and advised TOP SCORER would not race for the remainder of the season subject to any further veterinary examination conducted on the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, TOP SCORER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FUN N FUN TOGETHER (J232): When questioned, C Y Ho stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position but not specifically to lead the event. He said when joined in the lead by SEA SAPPHIRE in the early stages, his intention was to allow that runner to cross and he would race with cover behind SEA SAPPHIRE. He said as he endeavoured to allow SEA SAPPHIRE to cross his mount, FUN N FUN TOGETHER commenced to race keenly and would not respond to his urgings to settle which resulted in a faster pace being set than what he would have liked. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Ho were reasonable in the circumstances in that he had made sufficient effort to endeavour to restrain his mount to attempt to set a more sustainable pace throughout the early and middle stages of the event. BLAZING WIND (J157): Jumped awkwardly. Near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid TOP SCORER. Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race. COURIER ALADDIN (J387): After the 400 Metres shifted out and away from NEVER PETER OUT which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race. DRAGON JOY (J278): Jumped only fairly and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race. FOXHUNTER KING (J044): Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between FLYING ROMANTIC which shifted out slightly and LIFE OF STONE which shifted in slightly. Near the 650 Metres was taken wider by FLYING ROMANTIC. LIFE OF STONE (J374): Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. SOLAR UP (J134): Was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, Trainer C W Chang confirmed the instructions were to ride SOLAR UP conservatively in the early stages. He said he issued such instructions as the horse had barrier trialed well on 28 June 2024 when ridden in this manner. SEA SAPPHIRE (H343): When questioned regarding his riding and the fast pace set in the early and middle stages, K Teetan stated that his instructions were to endeavour to lead. He said after SEA SAPPHIRE commenced well, he was joined in the lead by FUN N FUN TOGETHER. He said having regard to his instructions, he then allowed SEA SAPPHIRE to stride forward with a view to crossing FUN N FUN TOGETHER in the early stages. He added when FUN N FUN TOGETHER commenced to race keenly to his inside, he was unable to cross that runner approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres and as a result he elected to make additional use of his mount to cross FUN N FUN TOGETHER so as to comply with his instructions. He said after the 700 Metres SEA SAPPHIRE was able to cross FUN N FUN TOGETHER to lead on the rail. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued but stated such instructions were not binding and that the option was available to race outside the lead if SEA SAPPHIRE was unable to lead. After considering his explanations, the Stewards advised K Teetan that he had made an error of judgement in the early stages by continuing to ride his mount forward to cross FUN N FUN TOGETHER, particularly when the early and middle stages of the event were run inside of standard time. He was further advised he would be expected to show better judgement than what he did on this occasion in future. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. NEVER PETER OUT (J200): No report. FLYING ROMANTIC (J057): Near the 650 Metres was checked to avoid TOP SCORER which was giving ground when being restrained out of the event. Briefly held up making the Home Turn. Lay in in the Home Straight. KING OBERON (H407): After the 400 Metres was steadied away from COURIER ALADDIN which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.

WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193): Throughout the early stages over-raced, got its head up and near the 1400 Metres shifted out and made contact with LAUGH TALE which was then steadied when racing tight to the inside of LUCKY TOUCH. COMING PATCH (G222): Jumped awkwardly. Between the 350 Metres and the 50 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LAUGH TALE (G406): Steadied near the 1400 Metres when racing tight between WAY MAY WAI WAI and LUCKY TOUCH. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ONLY U (J037): Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. LET'S DO IT (E132): No report. LUCKY TOUCH (J203): When questioned, Z Purton stated that his instructions from the outside barrier were to ride his mount in a forward position, particularly with the expected lack of early pace in the event. He said the instructions issued today were similar to those issued at the horse’s last start, however, LUCKY TOUCH was caught wide in the early stages due to that race being run at a faster pace than today. He said as a result LUCKY TOUCH settled back on that occasion. He added that approaching the first turn today he was able to obtain a position with cover behind the equal leader LAUGH TALE, but when MEEPMEEP improved to his outside near the 800 Metres, he was obliged to shift to the outside of LAUGH TALE as he was concerned that runner would not take him into the race. He said as a result LUCKY TOUCH raced wide and without cover from that point before responding only fairly to his riding in the Home Straight. He further stated that, in his opinion, having regard to the manner in which his mount raced today, it may be better suited being ridden in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions issued and stated they were consistent with the instructions at the horse’s last start and also were issued as he felt it would be advantageous to race in an on-pace position on today’s "C” course. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. TRADITION (J111): No report. MEEPMEEP (H234): Raced wide and without cover from the 1000 Metres. PRINCE ALEX (G307): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SUPER UNICORN (H481): No report. MISSION VOICE (H444): Sent for sampling post-race. JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213): Jumped only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HASTEN DELIGHT (J229): Bumped shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race. FIND MY LOVE (H110): Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres. SUNLIGHT POWER (H244): In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid OUR LUCKY GLORY. BEAUTY GLORY (E459): After the race, Y L Chung stated that whilst his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover, it raced "flat” today. BEAUTY FIT (E279): Sent for sampling post-race. MAJESTIC COLOUR (H124): No report. TURIN STARSPANGLED (J209): Near the 50 Metres was steadied to avoid BEAUTY FIT. FANTASTIC FUN (J364): Jumped only fairly. After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount, which was having it second race start in Hong Kong, would derive benefit from toady’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LESLIE (E471): Shortly after the start shifted out and bumped HASTEN DELIGHT. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER GOLDI (H477): Raced tight to the inside of SUNLIGHT POWER for some distance after the 50 Metres. SWEET BRIAR (H044): Near the 50 Metres, when giving ground, was steadied when crowded between SUPER GOLDI which was taken in slightly by SUNLIGHT POWER and TURIN STARSPANGLED which was taken out by BEAUTY FIT (H Bowman). H Bowman was advised to exercise more care. THUNDER BLINK (J019): When questioned regarding the performance of THUNDER BLINK, M Chadwick stated that from a favourable barrier the intention was to endeavour to hold a midfield position. He said THUNDER BLINK jumped only fairly and then was quickly crossed by runners to his outside which resulted in his mount settling back in the field. He added with the middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time, THUNDER BLINK did not travel well and for this reason he elected to allow his mount to follow SUNLIGHT POWER into the event from the 800 Metres. He added his initial intention was to improve to the inside of SUNLIGHT POWER making the Home Turn but when BEAUTY GLORY commenced to give ground in advance, he was obliged to shift to the outside of SUNLIGHT POWER to obtain clear running. He further stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight THUNDER BLINK, which was having its only third race start in Hong Kong, lay out and did not respond to his riding which he attributed to the horse’s inexperience. Trainer K H Ting confirmed the instructions were to endeavour to hold a more forward position and stated that with THUNDER BLINK stepping up to Class 3 grade today, its inexperience resulted in it not being able to race in a competitive manner. He added that THUNDER BLINK would now be given a let-up for the remainder of the season. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of THUNDER BLINK was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, THUNDER BLINK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. OUR LUCKY GLORY (G292): No report.

ENJOY GOLF (J222): No report. CHATEAUNEUF (J219): After the race, Z Purton stated that with the expected fast early pace, the intention was to ride CHATEAUNEUF a little more conservatively in the early stages. He said after making a run on CHATEAUNEUF in the Home Straight, the horse finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. AMAZING DUCK (H392): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. ALL RICHES (G060): No report. LUCKY GOLD (G112): No report. FORTUNE RACER (J234): The performance of FORTUNE RACER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE RACER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MILES AWAY (J221): No report. BALLISTIC WIN (J040): Was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race. SWEET SMILE (J282): No report. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer”.

SILVER KING (H420): Leaving the 450 Metres was steadied away from THE WINNABE when that runner shifted out and away from MIGHTY STEED after being taken out slightly by that runner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. NOT USUAL STAR (G396): No report. THE WINNABE (J251): On jumping made contact with the left side of its barrier and lost ground and then shortly after was steadied when crowded between GALVANIC and MIGHTY STEED which shifted out slightly. Sent for sampling post-race. GIDDY UP (J020): On jumping was bumped heavily by KING MILES, became unbalanced and lost ground. For some distance near the 450 Metres was held up for clear running behind KING MILES. From the 400 Metres until the 250 Metres was held up for clear running behind HIGHLAND RAHY. C Y Ho (KING MILES) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 100 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of GIDDY UP, resulting in GIDDY UP having to be checked to avoid KING MILES and losing its rightful running. Having regard to Jockey Ho holding confirmed riding engagements for the remainder of the season and in accordance with previous practices, he was fined the sum of $50,000 in lieu of a one-day suspension. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. MOJAVE DESERT (J330): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From the 450 Metres until the 350 Metres was held up for clear running. GALVANIC (H147): Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. KING MILES (J158): Shifted out at the start and bumped heavily with GIDDY UP. C Y Ho pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 100 Metres (see GIDDY UP). Sent for sampling post-race. HARMONY GALAXY (J266): No report. MIGHTY STEED (J384): When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, M Chadwick stated that after settling in a handy position, he placed his mount under full pressure making the Home Turn to attempt to improve into the event. He said from the 500 Metres his mount did not respond to his riding which resulted in THE WINNABE improving to his outside and MIGHTY STEED being positioned behind LOVERO. He added in the Home Straight MIGHTY STEED finished the race off in a one-paced manner, however, after the 200 Metres became held up behind LOVERO before shifting to that runner’s outside at the 150 Metres. The Stewards advised Jockey Chadwick that over the final 150 Metres he is required to ride his mount with more vigour than what he did on this occasion to ensure that it finishes in the best possible placing in the field. GREENWICH (H328): After the race, A Atzeni stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily outside the lead but gave ground quickly in the Home Straight. He added the only explanation he would offer was that GREENWICH did not appreciate the step-up in Class 3 grade for tonight’s meeting. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HIGHLAND RAHY (J298): No report.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS (H170): Bumped at the start. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. FULL CREDIT (J185): Sent for sampling post-race. GREAT STATE (J124): When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, K De Melo stated that after following POLARIS he shifted to that runner’s outside to commence to improve into the event. He said when a run did not fully develop between POLARIS and LO PAN SPIRIT, he then contemplated shifting to the outside of LO PAN SPIRIT near the 400 Metres to secure clear running. He said when MODULECONSTRUCTION was positioned to his outside and there was no run available, he then commenced to look to improve to the inside of LO PAN SPIRIT. He added approaching the 300 Metres when he attempted to obtain that run, STAR CLUB improved to his inside at which point he received a call from the rider of STAR CLUB, Jockey Z Purton. He said for this reason he was unable to fully commit to the run between LO PAN SPIRIT and POLARIS which resulted in GREAT STATE being held up behind LO PAN SPIRIT between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres before GREAT STAGE finished the race off only fairly. The Stewards advised Jockey De Melo that in the circumstances he should have ridden his mount in a more decisive manner approaching the 300 Metres to ensure that he fully established a run between LO PAN SPIRIT and POLARIS sooner. LO PAN SPIRIT (J233): Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping and became unbalanced. MODULECONSTRUCTION (H127): No report. TORONADO PHANTOM (E300): Shifted in at the start and was bumped. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. POLARIS (J404): Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race. STAR CLUB (H239): Near the 200 Metres became held up for clear running behind POLARIS and as a result did not obtain clear running until after the 100 Metres where it shifted to the outside of that runner. Sent for sampling post-race. CAPTAIN WIN (E466): No report. VICTOR THE RAPID (J393): Shortly after the start was crowded between EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS and MODULECONSTRUCTION which shifted out slightly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. YEAH BUDDY (J430): On jumping was checked when crowded between POLARIS which shifted out slightly and LO PAN SPIRIT which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
