ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. KINGLY DEMEANOR (H486): Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped. RELIABLE PROFIT (G462): No report. KEEN UNITY (G298): Shifted in at the start and was bumped. GO GO GO (H196): Sent for sampling post-race. CLASSIC ARCHI (G295): Jumped only fairly. After the race, H Bentley reported that his mount travelled reasonably well during the event, but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he could offer no explanation in relation to its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LEATHER MASTER (H034): Jumped awkwardly. ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194): Sent for sampling post-race. FASTPASS (H040): Shortly after the start was bumped by KINGLY DEMEANOR which shifted out. When questioned regarding his riding in the middle stages and the reason FASTPASS raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres, M F Poon stated that his mount did not travel well throughout the event. He said whilst he had a trailing position behind GO GO GO, he placed his mount under pressure near the 850 Metres to encourage it to travel and as he placed FASTPASS under pressure with the whip, it shifted out which allowed LEATHER MASTER to improve to his inside. He added as a result FASTPASS was obliged to race wide and without cover from the 800 Metres, but never responded to his riding and gave ground in the Home Straight. Trainer C H Yip confirmed that the intention had been to hold a handy position with cover, but agreed with Jockey Poon that FASTPASS had come under pressure in the middle stages which resulted in FASTPASS shifting out near the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. GREEN LASER (E409): Bumped at the start by KEEN UNITY which shifted in. After the race, M L Yeung reported that his mount did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced "flat”. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

THE PERFECT MATCH (J253): No report. AMAZING RUN (H401): No report. ROARING BEBE (H105): Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded shortly after the start between SO AWESOME and COSMO NAVIGATOR which shifted in. WINNING MONEY (J116): Bounded on jumping and lost ground. In the early stages then raced keenly and got its head up. Between the 150 Metres and the 50 Metres was held up for clear running between MULTIDARLING and COSMO NAVIGATOR which was giving ground. HAYDAY (H321): Sent for sampling post-race. COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156): On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to COSMO NAVIGATOR was refitted. Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. When questioned regarding his riding, A Hamelin stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position and if possible to race outside the expected leader HAYDAY. He said in the early stages when LAPRAS and SO AWESOME showed good pace to his inside, COSMO NAVIGATOR was obliged to race very wide and without cover on the first turn. He added that during this section of the race COSMO NAVIGATOR lay in which required him to take corrective action to prevent it from crowding runners to his inside and as a consequence he was unable to ride his mount forward with his usual vigour as he was concerned that COSMO NAVIGATOR may shift in. He further stated that when SO AWESOME held its position to his inside, he then elected to restrain his mount and obtain cover near the 800 Metres when he was of the opinion that COSMO NAVIGATOR was not showing sufficient pace to cross runners to his inside. After considering his explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Hamelin were reasonable in the circumstances, however, he was advised, whenever possible, he should endeavour to ride his mounts in a manner to comply with the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FAST AS ROCKET (H375): No report. HERCULES (C476): Jumped awkwardly. Near the 250 Metres was shifted to the outside of FAST AS ROCKET to continue into clear running. GIMME FIVE (J099): Sent for sampling post-race. SO AWESOME (D258): When questioned, Y L Chung stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position and to obtain cover if possible. He said in the early stages when positioned to the outside of LAPRAS, he was of the opinion that he would have had to severely restrain his mount to obtain a trailing position behind that runner and as a consequence he elected to remain positioned to its outside. He said entering the Back Straight he had expected LAPRAS to attempt to look for cover and as a result he then encouraged his mount forward to cross that runner. He added when SO AWESOME did not show sufficient pace to cross LAPRAS, he was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. LAPRAS (H374): No report. MULTIDARLING (H148): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

SIXTH GENERATION (G120): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CORDYCEPS ONE (E107): No report. GOLDEN LUCK (H159): When questioned regarding his riding in the early stages and in particular the fast pace set, L Hewitson stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position and either lead or obtain cover if circumstances permitted. He said in the early stages when positioned to the outside of CORDYCEPS ONE, he was unable to obtain cover as he was positioned in advance of that horse and for this reason he elected to ride his mount forward to cross runners to his inside. He added as a consequence he was obliged to make use of his mount to cross those runners which resulted in a fast pace being set. He said after obtaining a position in advance and to the outside of SUPER BABY, he then continued to ride his mount forward to cross that runner as he was of the opinion that SUPER BABY would not contest the lead. Trainer K L Man confirmed that the instructions were to take up a forward position. After considering his explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Hewitson were reasonable in the circumstances. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. STORM LEGEND (G139): Jumped only fairly. After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that after bumping with the running rail near the 600 Metres when racing to the inside of SURE JOYFUL, his mount then finished the race off in a one-paced manner in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. SURE JOYFUL (G125): No report. SUPER BABY (G364): No report. After the race, K Teetan stated that his mount settled further back in the field after rearing at the start and losing ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DENFIELD (G471): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned, H Bowman stated that his instructions from a wide barrier were to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages. He said DENFIELD travelled satisfactorily in the early stages but from the 600 Metres he became concerned with his mount’s action, particularly when leading on its right leg. He said for this reason after entering the Home Straight he was reluctant to place his mount under full pressure as he continued to have concerns with its action until DENFIELD changed stride near the 250 Metres. He said once balanced he then commenced to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race. He added however he did not use the whip on DENFIELD as he felt his mount was responding strongly to his hand and heels riding. H Bowman was reminded of his obligation under Rule 105 to report to the Stewards immediately following the race any condition which may affect the performance of his horse during the running of a race. Trainer C S Shum confirmed the instructions issued and also confirmed that immediately after the race Jockey Bowman had expressed concern in relation to the horse’s action during the running of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The Stewards determined that DENFIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments before being allowed to race again. LEAN MASTER (H134): When questioned, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his instructions were to endeavour to lead the event if possible. He said his mount jumped only fairly and when ONE FOR ALL showed superior pace to his mount in the early stages, he elected to allow that runner to cross as he was of the opinion if he contested the lead, the pace would be too fast. He added after being crossed by ONE FOR ALL, LEAN MASTER commenced to race keenly which it continued to do throughout the middle stages. He said making the first turn he was reluctant to shift to the outside of ONE FOR ALL and race outside the lead as he was content to maintain his cover to endeavour to prevent it from racing too keenly in the middle stages. Sent for sampling post-race. ONE FOR ALL (G012): Bumped at the start. Sent for sampling post-race. RUN RUN COOL (E322): No report. After the event, A Hamelin reported that his mount raced ungenerously throughout the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THE KHAN (H489): After the race, A Badel stated that he was given no specific instructions. He said his mount jumped well and as a result he elected to ride THE KHAN forward to lead the event when no other runner was showing the intent to hold the lead. Trainer C Fownes advised that whilst he had given Jockey Badel the option to take up a more forward position, he had not expected THE KHAN to lead the event. He added, in his opinion, THE KHAN was not suited by racing keenly in the lead which resulted in it giving ground in the Home Straight.
