DROMBEG BANNER was withdrawn on 7.7.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter THE RUNNER. Before being allowed to race again, DROMBEG BANNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SILVER SONIC jumped only fairly. KASA PAPA was slow to begin. MALDIVES and SETANTA bumped at the start. NOBLE WIN and TAMRA BLITZ also bumped on jumping. TAMRA BLITZ was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages. From a wide barrier, CAPITAL DELIGHT was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1100 Metres, SILVER SONIC brushed the running rail. SETANTA raced keenly in the middle stages and at the 1100 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from STREET CONQUEROR. Near the 900 Metres, TAMRA BLITZ, which was racing tight to the inside of SETANTA, lay out and was steadied. NOBLE WIN raced wide and without cover until near the 650 Metres. The performance of STREET CONQUEROR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, STREET CONQUEROR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, M Chadwick (THE RUNNER) reported that near the 1000 Metres he felt his mount had been galloped on which caused THE RUNNER to become unbalanced and lose ground. A veterinary inspection of CAPITAL DELIGHT, STREET CONQUEROR and NOBLE WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SILVER SONIC and ROMANTIC CHARM were sent for sampling.
