A further grass trial at Conghua over 1000m on 28/2 saw him held back and appear weak. This horse was a recent winner, running exceptionally well over this distance in April, leading from start to finish with a strong final section to secure victory. After a spell, he has had three barrier trials without showing peak form. Facing an upward class challenge, he benefits from a 12lb weight reduction in this race and has proven performance over the course and distance. The competition within his group is comparable, and drawing a good barrier offers opportunities to lead. His finishing kick is strong amongst his rivals, positioning him favorably. Based on relative ability, he is the strongest contender in this event; horse and jockey are well-matched, and with a clean jump and intention to lead, a forward position appears achievable.
