Three weeks ago, this horse completed a dirt trial over 1050m in running positions of 2-2-2, maintaining second and showing maturity and improvement. Four weeks prior, he ran a decent race over a Happy Valley sprint, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear before making a move in the middle stages with a strong finish. A subsequent barrier trial showed slight progress. Another straight course trial was completed. This time carrying a two-pound deduction in weight, the plan is to settle back in the field, however, his finishing kick may not be as strong as rivals and the overall situation isn’t ideal. Fortunately, the group timing looks good, and an advantageous barrier draw suggests potential for an upset.
