Four weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over Sha Tin 1200m, settling in a good position tracking the leaders and showing acceleration in the middle stages with a strong gallop. A recent dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 6-6-8) saw the horse holding back slightly, not fully extended. Now stepping up to Sha Tin 1400m this time carrying an additional two pounds, the distance appears suitable and the horse is expected to challenge for the lead. Drawing a favorable barrier position, jockey Matthew Poon has been engaged—he understands the horse’s capabilities. Despite a potentially weak finishing kick and trainer-jockey incompatibility, a clean break and commitment to leading could see it finish among the frontrunners.
