Four weeks ago, in a race over the same distance, the performance was dismal; a slow start saw it settle towards the back before making a mid-race move, ultimately failing to catch up and finishing well-beaten. Returning to training later than usual, this time it carries no additional weight. It has previous form over this distance, respectable times within its group, and should be able to secure a good position tracking the leaders from an advantageous inside barrier. Possessing the strongest finishing kick in its class, the horse appears well-positioned. Based on overall ability, it’s comparatively strong; Matthew Poon takes the ride, with a potentially good jockey-horse combination. Preparations have been thorough, and the horse is showing rapid improvement – looking promising.
