On March 27th, a dirt trial over 1200m saw the horse slightly held back early on, switched rails at the 200m mark, and showed strong strides. Prior to that, on March 13th (Conghua dirt trial 1200m), he steadily closed ground under vigorous riding with good momentum remaining. Last ran a winner six weeks ago over the same distance, displaying excellent form despite a slow start and settling towards the rear. He then quickened in the final two sections to take victory. Two barrier trials have been completed without fully extending himself. This time requires an 8lb rise in weight. Proven over this distance with good times against comparable horses, drawing an inside barrier. Trainer and jockey are aligned in their thinking; however, even if settling towards the rear in this race, his finishing kick may not be as strong as rivals, making his chances less favorable, though he could offer some value at longer odds.
