Four weeks prior, in a similar distance race, it performed adequately, breaking slowly and settling towards the back before making a move in the middle stages but failing to sustain the effort to the finish. A subsequent barrier trial didn't reveal significant improvement. This time, the horse has a three-pound weight reduction, but remains winless in six attempts over this distance. Drawing an outside barrier presents a disadvantageous position, and even with comparable times within its group, it’s likely to be held up and rely on a strong finishing kick – though opportunities appear limited.
