On March 25th, the horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 7-7-7), shifting outwards during the second furlong and finishing steadily. On March 10th, in a Conghua turf trial over 1600m, it settled in a good position under urging and performed satisfactorily. A further turf trial at Conghua on February 14th (1200m: 4-5-5) saw the horse respond to whipping in the straight for a passable performance. Prior to April, it delivered an excellent run over this same distance, jumping slowly but making up ground with fast final sections. After a lengthy break, three barrier trials haven’t shown expected improvement. Receiving a one-pound weight relief for this race, the horse remains winless after four attempts at this distance. Facing opponents with faster times, it will likely be held up in the field but lacks the finishing kick to compete effectively. The trainer and jockey have not historically worked well together, although an inside draw is beneficial. Luke Ferraris takes the ride, understanding the horse's limitations, which may yield some improvement.
