Three weeks ago, over Sha Tin’s 1600m, the horse underperformed despite settling in a good position and making a mid-race move to accelerate through the second and third sections with strong momentum. He finished fifth, beaten two and a half lengths. A subsequent trial over 1400m at Sha Tin sees him carrying an additional pound this time. The distance suits, he recorded the fastest time among his group, and has drawn well. Expected to be able to track the pace, conditions are favorable. Based on relative ability, he is considered the strongest contender in this race. With Zac Purton taking the ride, horse, jockey and trainer all appear to have a good rapport; a clean break and commitment to tracking the speed should see him finish among the leading contenders.
