On March 28th, a turf trial over 800m at Conghua saw the horse perform adequately, finishing (7-7-5). A previous turf trial on March 24th over 1600m at Conghua showed it tracking the pace and performing satisfactorily. Five weeks ago, in a Happy Valley long-distance race, the horse ran poorly, maintaining a steady pace while following the leaders but failing to produce a strong finish and finishing well down the field. Two barrier trials have not yielded encouraging results. Returning to Sha Tin for a 2000m turf race, this time with a two-pound weight reduction and an unfavorable outside draw, trainer-jockey combination appears suboptimal. Despite previous form over this distance, rivals are closely matched and capable of leading the pace; the horse may challenge for the lead. Lyle Hewitson takes the ride, demonstrating some familiarity with the horse's capabilities, but is not considered a strong contender in this race.
