On March 21st, a dirt trial over 1200m saw the horse running in 3rd for the first section, 3rd for the second, and finishing 11th overall, with a relaxed pace throughout. Five weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over Sha Tin’s 1200m turf, jumping slowly and settling towards the back. Maintaining a steady pace, it lacked a strong finish and finished well-beaten. A subsequent barrier trial showed no improvement. Now stepping up to a Happy Valley mile with a two-pound weight reduction, the distance is unfavorable and despite drawing a good barrier, this race is considered a trial run.
