On March 21st, the horse completed a dirt trial over 1200m with sections of 3-3-3, maintaining a comfortable pace throughout. Eight weeks ago, in a similar race over the same distance, it showed good performance despite a slow start and settling towards the back before finishing strongly in the final two sections. It finished sixth, beaten three lengths. After a short break, a barrier trial indicated slight improvement. This time, the horse has a 2lb weight reduction, faces competitors with varying times, and lacks a strong finishing kick, resulting in an unfavorable situation with limited trainer-jockey synergy. However, it has proven form over this distance and secured a good barrier draw, offering opportunities to lead. Jerry Chau will ride, understanding the horse’s capabilities; a clean break and intent to lead should see it finish among the frontrunners.
