On March 18th, in a dirt trial over 1200m (sections recorded as 10-10-9), the horse was briefly checked at the 200m mark before settling into an unremarkable rhythm. Five weeks ago, over a Sha Tin mile, it jumped slowly and settled towards the rear but maintained a steady pace without displaying any significant acceleration. A subsequent barrier trial did not reveal much improvement. Another trial over 1400m on turf saw the horse with a two-pound weight reduction; connections intend to settle it back in this race, however its finishing kick isn’t competitive enough. The current form is unfavorable and there appears to be limited synergy between the trainer and jockey. Despite some previous success at this distance, rivals are closely matched. An inside barrier draw has been secured with Derek Leung taking the ride; he has a basic understanding of the horse's capabilities but is not considered a leading contender in this race.
