Four weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over 1200m at Happy Valley, jumping slowly and settling towards the back. It showed strong momentum while making up ground but was beaten two and a half lengths for sixth place. Returning from a break to race again, it will now trial on Sha Tin turf over 1400m, carrying an additional 15 pounds this time. The competition in its group is moderate, allowing the horse to secure a good position tracking the leaders. Drawing an inside barrier and with Hugh Bowman taking the ride – who has some familiarity with the horse – trainer and jockey maintain a solid working relationship. Despite a potentially weak finishing kick, the overall situation isn’t unfavorable, suggesting it could be a place contender.
