On March 18th (dirt trial 1200m: 2-2-3), the horse tracked closely in second, responding well to strong urging over the final two furlongs to maintain second position. On April 4th (dirt trial 1200m: 7-7-4), it showed a good response under vigorous riding. On March 15th (Happy Valley turf trial 1200m: 10-10-9), the horse broke slowly and settled towards the rear, without being fully extended. On April 2nd (dirt trial 1200m: 6-6-8), it was urged around a bend but lacked focus in its stride. A later turf trial at Conghua over 1000m on February 20th saw it stumble and bump at the start, then settle into a following position maintaining an even pace. This is the horse’s debut run as a new winner; it began training in Hong Kong towards the end of November last year. Throughout five barrier trials this season, its performance has been adequate. Its stride length is relatively low but lacks early speed and acceleration, displaying more consistency than bursts of speed. Distances of 1400m to one mile appear most suitable. For this debut race, it’s best to assess its performance in a single run first.
