Five weeks ago, over a long Happy Valley distance, the horse performed adequately despite a slow start, settling towards the rear. It finished fourth with a strong late surge, beaten two lengths. A subsequent trial over 2000m at Sha Tin saw it receive a one-pound weight reduction; its times were comparable to other horses in the group and it drew an inside barrier. Compared to rivals, this horse possesses relatively stronger ability, and trainer/jockey relationship remains solid. However, a hold-up tactics are expected for this race, though its finishing kick may not be as strong as opponents, making its chances uncertain – a trailing finish is anticipated.
