March 20th (Conghua dirt trial 1200m: 4-4-6), urged throughout, response was average. March 10th (Conghua turf trial 1000m: 4-7-6), constantly pushed but only quickened late. February 28th (Conghua turf trial 800m: 5-7-7) ran smoothly while tracking the pace. Last run on dirt mile was poor, slow start and settled towards the rear, failing to finish strongly resulting in a heavy defeat. After a long break, three barrier trials showed no improvement. Switching to dirt over 1800m for the first time, with a 3lb weight reduction, the distance increase is unfavorable. Likely to settle back in the field but lacks a strong finishing kick; despite an advantageous inside draw, it’s best to see how he performs in this race before considering him.
