On March 7th, the horse completed a turf trial at Conghua over 1200m (6-6-4), moving out to an outer position on the bend and maintaining a steady pace. Five weeks ago, this horse ran well over Sha Tin’s 1800m, settling in a good position tracking the leaders, able to keep up with the early speed over two sections but lacking a strong finishing surge. He finished seventh, beaten three lengths. A subsequent barrier trial showed satisfactory performance. Now debuting on dirt over 1800m after joining the Hong Kong racing scene, needing to carry 16 pounds more this time, the distance appears suitable and he should be able to secure a good position tracking the leaders with a decent finishing kick. The horse holds an absolute advantage in this race, trainer and jockey continue to have a strong working relationship, and is expected to improve further.
