This newcomer showcased promising form in a series of barrier trials, beginning with a solid (13/3) over 1200m on dirt, finishing third after progressing well. Further trials on {4/3} and {18/2} showed continued improvement, displaying good speed and stamina – the latter seeing the horse finish strongly under urging in the straight. Trials on {4/2}, {21/1} and {7/1} further confirmed a comfortable cruising speed and an ability to respond when asked for effort. A more recent trial on {20/12} saw the horse maintain position while tracking the field. Having commenced training in Hong Kong last October, this lightly-raced type has clearly benefitted from its preparation with seven trials under its belt. Observations highlight a low action, quick footwork and deep stride – particularly over 1200m – suggesting ample stamina. Ryan Moore was among those to ride the horse during these trials, indicating a positive impression. This debutant looks poised for a strong first-up performance and is considered a leading contender to make an immediate impact.
