On jumping, EL ZONDA blundered and lost ground. TOP TOP LIGHT began awkwardly and lost ground. NAMJONG FIGHTERS was slow into stride. GOOD LUCK WIN hung out badly making the turn at the 700 Metres. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD LUCK WIN will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. At the 800 Metres, EL ZONDA got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of WELL NOTED. At the 300 Metres, K T Yeung (MASTER GREEN) dropped his whip. Near the 200 Metres, NICE KING was steadied when awkwardly placed outside the heels of EL ZONDA. Near the 50 Metres, SUPER GENERAL, which was closing the race off, was steadied and shifted to the outside of PICKETT to continue going forward. Throughout the race, RIGHT TONE and MASTER GREEN travelled wide and without cover. D Beadman (NAMJONG FIGHTERS) explained rounding the Home Turn he shifted his mount away from the rail as he was intending to shift to the outside of the field on straightening. He said on straightening a number of runners in front of him shifted wider on the track, therefore he allowed NAMJONG FIGHTERS to shift back in where running was available. He said NAMJONG FIGHTERS commenced to close the race off strongly, then near the 200 Metres he had to steady his mount and shift wider on the track to continue going forward. After the race, Apprentice M L Yeung (NICE KING) reported on straightening his saddle shifted to the right side which placed him at a disadvantage in riding his mount out. NICE KING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NICE KING after the race did not show any significant findings. TYCOON TAYLOR, TOP TOP LIGHT and PICKETT were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that WELL NOTED had bled from both nostrils.
