After being boxed, HURRICANE DASH became fractious, reared and dislodged W C Marwing, its rider. BEAUTY FOREVER began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ABLE DRAGON. After this, despite being ridden along, BEAUTY FOREVER failed to muster speed. On jumping, HORACE'S CHOICE, BLEDISLOE and HURRICANE DASH were taken back. At the 900 Metres, ELITE CHAMPION was steadied away from the heels of UNIQUE JEWELLERY which shifted in. As a consequence of this, ROMPING and SINGING DINERS which were following were steadied. In turn BEAUTY FOREVER was checked when awkwardly placed inside the heels of ROMPING and RICE FIELD was checked and shifted out away from the heels of SINGING DINERS. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, UPSIDE OF ANGER was steadied away from the heels of BLEDISLOE which was steadied away from the heels of HORACE'S CHOICE which was proving difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, RICE FIELD, which had been racing wide and without cover and proving difficult to settle, improved its position around the field. Over about the last 200 Metres, HORACE'S CHOICE was not able to obtain clear running and therefore was not fully tested. At the 150 Metres, ROMPING, which was closing the race off fairly, was steadied when disappointed for running between ELITE CHAMPION and RICE FIELD which was giving ground. After this, ROMPING was shifted towards the inside of RICE FIELD and close to the line was steadied away from the heels of that horse which was carried in by HORACE'S CHOICE which shifted ground after getting its head on the side and commencing to hang. Because of this, ROMPING was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. In the Straight, BLEDISLOE hung in. Throughout the race, HIGH INTELLIGENT travelled wide and without cover. BEAUTY FOREVER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY FOREVER after the race did not show any significant findings. UNIQUE JEWELLERY and HURRICANE DASH were sent for sampling.
