SUPER SNIPPETS, which was fractious in its stall, sat back as the gates opened and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground. NICE KING began awkwardly and lost ground. HORSE WIN WIN, which was leaning against the inside of its stall, began awkwardly, causing M Nunes, its rider, to lose the use of his right stirrup for some distance. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, MASTER CRISTO was steadied to avoid the heels of GLENEALY STAR (Y T Cheng) which shifted in when not clear. Y T Cheng was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. After this incident, MASTER CRISTO shifted to the outside of GLENEALY STAR, causing ALL TIME HIGH to be carried wider. Near the 700 Metres, HORSE WIN WIN was carried wider by MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP which when travelling close to the heels of BRILLIANT TREASURE got its head up and shifted out. After the 600 Metres, BRILLIANT TREASURE was steadied away from the heels of WHIPLASH. Making the Home Turn, MASTER CRISTO hung out. After the race, M Du Plessis (SUPER SNIPPETS) reported his mount did not feel comfortable on today’s track surface. HORSE WIN WIN and SUPER SNIPPETS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HORSE WIN WIN and SUPER SNIPPETS after the race did not show any significant findings. WHIPLASH and MASTER CRISTO were sent for sampling.
