When the gates opened, SCOOT DA LOOT bounded in the air and lost ground. VIVA FIGHTER was slow to begin and was then taken across behind runners. Near the 1300 Metres, HAPPY MASTER was steadied away from the heels of FUJIAN PRINCE. In the early stages, WISE LOVER was allowed to drift back from a wide barrier. Also in the early stages, MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP proved difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, WELL NOTED was crowded for room between HAPPY MASTER and SUNBELL. For the major part of the race, EVERGREEN travelled wide and without cover. WISE LOVER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WISE LOVER after the race did not show any significant findings. SINGING DINERS, CONGRATULATION and OURAJA were sent for sampling. Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 2 January 2008) WISE LOVER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. WISE LOVER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y O Wong this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, WISE LOVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
