ELEGANT KING PRAWN was withdrawn on 9.11.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left fore suspensory). Before being allowed to race again, ELEGANT KING PRAWN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NAMJONG FIGHTERS, which was standing with its head turned to the left, was slow to begin. SURE JOY, which was fractious in its stall, was slow to begin and then failed to muster speed in the early stages. On jumping, BOOMING CITY and ELEGANT KING bumped. Then shortly afterwards, BOOMING CITY was steadied away from the heels of DOUBLE LUCK after being carried in by ELEGANT KING. From the outside barrier, BILLION on jumping was taken back and across behind runners. In the early stages, ELEGANT KING proved difficult to settle. After the 600 Metres, DOUBLE LUCK, which had been travelling keenly, became unbalanced when being shifted to the outside of FRIENDSHIP. Rounding the Home Turn, NAMJONG FIGHTERS hung out. From the 400 Metres until the 200 Metres, LASER TIGER was held up and unable to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, FEVER PITCH, which was commencing to give ground, was bumped by BOOMING CITY. After the 100 Metres, KIMBERLEY MINES was steadied away from the heels of LASER TIGER. For the majority of the Home Straight, BOOMING CITY had difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not properly tested. For the major part of the race, HAR HAR CHARMS travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, D Beadman (ONE WORLD) explained he obtained a nice position around midfield in what was a quickly run race. He said rounding the Home Turn he shifted out to a position to follow DOUBLE LUCK forward, however, shortly after straightening ONE WORLD was left flat-footed when endeavouring to improve into a run on the outside of DOUBLE LUCK and inside RAINBOW OASIS. He said as a result of this, that run closed which required him then to shift to the outside of RAINBOW OASIS near the 300 Metres. He said when he did this, he bumped HAR HAR CHARMS and it took ONE WORLD some time to regain its balance. He said after this ONE WORLD finished the race off fairly. BOOMING CITY and FEVER PITCH were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BOOMING CITY and FEVER PITCH after the race did not show any significant findings. ONE WORLD, SURE JOY and LASER TIGER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted RAINBOW OASIS had sustained a laceration to the inside heel of its left front foot.
