On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to G ONE EXCELLENT was replaced. SAVVY DELIGHT jumped only fairly and then was hampered when crowded between KING INVINCIBLE and SUPER COMMANDER which shifted out. PRESTIGE MOOCHI was checked on jumping when crowded by JOY IN JOY which shifted in. HELLS BELLS was slow to begin and then was steadied to avoid G ONE EXCELLENT which shifted out. From a wide barrier, OVERSUBSCRIBED was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. LIFE IS GOOD raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages when being steadied to obtain cover. Near the 700 Metres, JOY IN JOY hung in despite the efforts of its rider, Apprentice Y L Chung, and as a result briefly crowded SAVVY DELIGHT. Passing the 600 Metres, KING INVINCIBLE was steadied to avoid DIAMOND SOARS (B Avdulla) which shifted in when not quite clear. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care. As a result of this incident, KING INVINCIBLE made the turn awkwardly and shifted out. PRESTIGE MOOCHI hung in in the Straight and proved difficult to ride out. DIVINE ERA raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race, C Y Ho (G ONE EXCELLENT) reported that with the fast early pace, G ONE EXCELLENT was ridden along in the early and middle stages to hold its position. He added due to the manner he was obliged to ride G ONE EXCELLENT throughout the early and middle stages, his mount found it difficult to make up any appreciable ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection of G ONE EXCELLENT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Upon returning to the stables, SUPER COMMANDER was noted to have blood at its left nostril. An endoscopic examination conducted on SUPER COMMANDER confirmed the horse to have bled. A veterinary inspection of DIVINE ERA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER COMMANDER and SAVVY DELIGHT were sent for sampling.
