On arrival at the Start, it was noted that IMPERIAL MAGEE had blood at its mouth. IMPERIAL MAGEE was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. CALL ME DANDY shifted out abruptly on jumping, badly crowding TURTLE AGAIN which was checked when taken out across TOGEPI which was bumped on the hindquarters by TURTLE AGAIN and became unbalanced. After this, TURTLE AGAIN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. OVER THE MOON jumped only fairly. GLUCK RACER was slow to begin and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From a wide barrier, SPICY SO SMART was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 900 Metres, FIGHTING STAR shifted to the rail to take up a position with cover behind MIRACULOUS HONOUR. FIGHTING STAR then commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from the heels of MIRACULOUS HONOUR near the 800 Metres. MIRACULOUS HONOUR was inclined to lay out in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 200 Metres, FIGHTING STAR was momentarily crowded between MIRACULOUS HONOUR which shifted out and CALL ME DANDY which shifted in. Over the final 150 Metres, HAPPY TRIO lay out and proved difficult to ride out to the finish. After the race, C Y Ho reported that CALL ME DANDY, which was having its second race start today, raced greenly throughout the event and was inclined to lay out and as a consequence made the Home Turn wider. A veterinary inspection of CALL ME DANDY immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CALL ME DANDY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GLUCK RACER immediately following the race found that horse to have blood at its mouth. LASER VICTORY and SOARING TOWER were sent for sampling.
