PACKING GOODSING was withdrawn on 5.11.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BRILLIANT EIGHT (M F Poon). Before being allowed to race again, PACKING GOODSING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A AMERIC TE SPECSO shifted in at the start and bumped SMILING COLLECTOR. UNITED WE STAND got its head up on jumping and began only fairly. UNITED WE STAND then lost ground when crowded for room between BRILLIANT EIGHT which was bumped by TRUST ME and WAR WEAPON which began very awkwardly and shifted out a number of horses despite the efforts of its rider. In this incident, BRILLIANT EIGHT was also hampered and lost its left front plate when crowded for room inside TRUST ME which became unbalanced when bumped by BRILLIANT EIGHT. Before being allowed to race again, WAR WEAPON will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After this, UNITED WE STAND was ridden along to obtain the lead and WAR WEAPON was shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail. SHINING RED was steadied on jumping to obtain cover. In the early stages, BRILLIANT EIGHT was also steadied to obtain cover and made the turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly. Passing the 1100 Metres, SMILING COLLECTOR was steadied when crowded for room inside A AMERIC TE SPECSO which, when having its first race start, got its head on the side and lay in away from NOBLE ONE. Passing the 1000 Metres, NOBLE ONE commenced to travel very keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied to obtain cover. Then after the 1000 Metres, NOBLE ONE, which was continuing to race ungenerously, shifted in, resulting in SMILING COLLECTOR being crowded for room outside BRAVE DREAMS. Approaching the 700 Metres, EASY SNIP was left racing wide and without cover. SMILING COLLECTOR got its head on the side and lay out making the turns and in the Home Straight. Passing the 400 Metres, EASY SNIP raced tight outside the heels of BRAVE DREAMS which shifted out after initially being directed out by NOBLE ONE. WAR WEAPON was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and after the 400 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EASY SNIP when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running. Approaching the 200 Metres, SMILING COLLECTOR became unbalanced after being shifted out away from the heels of WAR WEAPON. A veterinary inspection of SMILING COLLECTOR and NOBLE ONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BRAVE DREAMS and E BROTHER were sent for sampling.
